    Default How to Remove Gunpowder

    I've just started playing with this Mod and am really liking it, but one thing I've never enjoyed was having to deal with gunpowder units in the later years. I much prefer straight swords and armor to cannons and muskets. I've done some searching but can't seem to find anything about how to remove the gunpowder discovery and all of that. Can it be done? How do you do it if so? Thanks!

    You can edit the "descr_events" file in your SS6.3 data campaign file.
    There are more than 1 so choose the campaign file that you installed on setup(early/late)...or just edit them all just in case

    The value of required turns until the event will happen is to the right of every written event in the file, each event has its separate value so you can edit those as you like.
    So the basic step is to increase value to a number of turns that you do not expect to play through since you will be finished with your game altogether.

    Though I am quite sure that is not save game compatible...I believe you will have to edit the save game file itself if you already played until the later years of the timeline...which is sad.

    Also, your game will become very unbalanced in the later turns without gunpowder units since some factions require them to compete with elite heavy armored units which they do not have in their unit roster(namely the eastern folk).

    Doublealso, good luck killing full plated cavalry tanks and their dismounted brethren without gunpowder when they appear...I have problems in my build with them and I increased missile_gunpowder value of each unit by 6-10

    Leave it in. Nothing like a group of musketeers firing point-blank into a mass pike melee

    So I've edited the English Archers Event to year 0 just because I want to have longbowmen right away in my early era campaign. How can I also edit when I get yeoman and retinue longbowmen?
