Default The rebellion of the Crownlands

Petyr Baelish rode into Sweetport Sound bearing a white flag indicating that he comes to the castle as an envoy.

The gates opened and shut behind him, he dismounted his horse and whilst being accompanied by Sunglass guards he was shown into the hall of Lord Sunglass.

"My lord" Petyr says as he lowers to one knee.

"Who are you? Speak quickly" replied the Lord Sunglass.

Petyr returns to standing position. "Lord Sunglass, I know you are a busy man so I will keep this quick. I am Petyr of House Baelish and I have come to speak on behalf of House Arryn."

The lords face turns stern "About what?"

"We are currently in the final days of this war, loyal though you may be you cannot deny that this war has already been decided. Those who fight for the Targaryens until the end may not be looked upon so favourably once House Barathoen takes the throne. Furthermore, half of the Crownlands already lies in flame, how long will it be until the other half follows? With all due respect my lord I would urge you to cast aside your loyalty to House Targaryen and pledge for King Robert. It would bring me great distress to see a House so loyal to the Faith as yours is suffer unnecessarily for following a mad man. The Faith disagree with the notion of incestuous marriage, they even started a war against the Targaryens because that family ignored the Faith. You may think that Prince Rhaegar is not currently a part of an inter-family match at the moment but that is only because there was no viable female Targaryen. You can be certain that Prince Aegon and Princess Rhaenys will be husband and wife, that's just what Targaryens do. Under King Robert and House Baratheon you will get no such unpious pairings. The Mad King openly burns his own subjects, men and women who believe in the Seven in the name of "justice". The High Septon is lucky he hasn't looked at Aerys the wrong way or perhaps he too would burn. House Targaryen promised to protect those loyal to the Faith but thanks to the Mad King not even servants of the Seven may look to their King for protection."

"What say you my lord? It is time to put the Faith's interests first. As a token of my goodwill and sincerity at showing belief in the Faith, should you desire it I will make a contribution of 5000 dragons towards refurbishments of your Sept."

Above RP is being updated due to holes in lore and contradictions between this post and lore.

Writer has been made aware of this and will be doing necessary changes.

    Awaiting update to posting.

I intend to use a mixture of: Religious dissatisfaction or at least proving that Robert is the better spiritual leader, "Goodwill" money spent on the interests of the Seven and the fact that he will be destroyed anyway if he doesn't pledge for Robert to bring him to our side.

The primary influencers will probably be his imminent destruction if he refuses and the bribe money.

This is how your persuasion attempt is currently broken down.

    Basic Roll:
    10/20

    Current Modifiers: -10
    Positive:
    +2 from bribe
    +3 threat of destruction

    Negative:
    - Character is being asked to betray someone they are directly sworn to (eg High Lord betraying Lord Paramount, or Lord betraying High Lord) (Only applies when outside forces are asking, such as a Riverman asking a Westerman to betray the Lannisters: does not come into play in internal revolts). -10
    - Character is being asked to betray the King/Queen. -5

    Final Roll:0/20 chance
