Medieval Total War won't install...

All right, I used to have Medieval Total War installed awhile ago. But I think I might have uninstalled it incorrectly. Now when I try to install it, it says...

"An earlier version of Medieval-Total War has been detected. Please uninstall this before installing Medieval Total War - Gold Edition."

But when I go to add or remove programs, and try to remove it (I have no idea why it's still on the list, but it is and it won't go away), it says...

"Unable to locate the installation log file 'C:\Program Files\Total War\Medieval - Total War\Uninst.isu'. Uninstallation will not continue."

Please help!

Delete the Total War folder. Also go into the registry and delete all entries related the Medieval.

I deleted the folder and I deleted all the registries i could (however there were like 2 that it did not allow me to delete).

I still can't install the game

Do a search for Medieval Total War, delete everything that it comes up with that pertains to MTW. Then run crap cleaner and fix issues it comes up with. The crap cleaner program will pretty much erase all the old registry files windows can't get. To download and install crap cleaner simply type in CCLEANER In google and go to the official site.

I did all of that and it still won't work! Please more ideas!

Sounds like a mistake I have made a zillion times, if you're going to uninstall; DON'T delete it... use add/remove programs tool.

Sometimes XP does not allow you to get rid of a program correctly using the Add / Remove Program Tools. Now you take a picture of your registry on every hit when you search for "Medieval" and what error message when you try to delete it.
