Thread: Clampdown Alert: Don't Praise this Mod!

Default Clampdown Alert: Don't Praise this Mod!

Everybody knows that the guardians on TWC are taking their task very seriously (Well, I guess all censors do). They do not only watch out for offensive posts, but they also decide whether your arguments are on topic or not. To judge from the number of cancellations, especially in the RTW2 subforum, there seem to be far too many irresponsible users who do not know how to keep a discussion on topic and need some kind of guiding or schooling. I have to admit that I myself have sometimes been among these, and that is probably how most of you learned about Rome Total History.

Now, recently some users have been caught appreciating this mod in the wrong places. I would like to thank them, if that was possible, but obviously their posts have been canceled, and if they insist in this kind of transgression, they risk to be permanently banned.

For this reason, to keep you from harm, we feel the necessity to issue the following warning: If you have any appreciation (or criticism) to express on this mod, we invite you to do it only in the reserved spaces!

This is misinformation and distortion of facts and you know it. If you wish I can post our conversation regarding this issue here. If you have problems with moderation then this is the place for it - as I pointed out in that very conversation as well.

User AngryPolack was censored because he wrote: "That mod looks sick. Will definitely try."

To be precise, this was classified as spam.

You can still read it, because they forgot to cancel Yerevan's reply in which he cites him and then answers: "Indeed. I ws looking forward to try it too, as soon as I get some spare time. There are some very nice new ideas concerning permanent forts and ancillaries."

I ignore why that wasn't classified as spam. Since the discussion was about mapping it was certainly more off topic than the previous one (which was mainly on the look of the map, as it seems).

    Here is the thread:

This should prove that my account, although clearly satiric, as you perfectly understood, is quite precise.

But I admit that the part saying that repeated transgressors risk a permanent ban is probably an exaggeration (well, that's the nature of satire). At least I hope so, although I've seen those two words quite often recently. The more audacious users of the forum may go and try to find out which is the truth, but at least nobody can say that I didn't warn them.

Please open a thread in the commentary as I mentioned - it's the only forum where discussing moderation policy is acceptable, everywhere else threads will get closed as this one is now.
