    Default Representing Germany in game

Representing the Holy Roman Empire in ETW is difficult because of the faction cap and impossibility (for now) of changing province boundaries/numbers of provinces. There also seems to be a faction cap which means if you want to add a new faction you must remove another (including emergents).

It is clear Germany in 1600 tilted far more towards Protestantism than in 1700. Saxony in ETW has Catholicism as its official religion, yet this conversion only came about in 1696 to allow Augustus II to accede to the Polish-throne. Saxony itself and its king remained of different faith's right up to and since the 1918 revolutions in Germany. If possible I would like to rectify this problem by replacing it with a Protestant Saxony.

Wurttemburg in contrast went back and forth between Catholic/Protestant rulers like 16th century England but nonetheless in 1600 was under Protestant rule. I have found that changing the faction religion in the startpos Faction Area does not seem to fully work in the game. The faction religion is changed on the control panel, but still they only produce Catholic buildings and diplomatic relations still treat them as Catholic. That is why my solution is replacing them with a new Protestant faction of the same name.

In theory I would also like to make Brandenburg and Prussia separate factions as their personal union didn't begin until 1624.

And of course the faction cap means the more factions we make the fewer we can make later e.g. Moldavia, Transylvania, Bohemia. I'm thinking about making Bohemia an emerging faction.

How do you want Germany represented in the game? Do you approve my suggestions or not?

Hello, i am realy happy to see this mod grow every time i check TWC. To represent the HRE is a hard quest in every TW-game. I think it would be best if the empire itself is splittet between little states, which are all bount to the diplomacy of Austria. Maybe there could be a script, that every change in diplomacy for austria accours for every other german state. There should be just one exception: There should also be a script that allows the HRE factions to fight wars against each other. Maybe the best way would be to bound them to the diplomacy of austria and in 1618 a scriptet event triggers a civilwar. I dont think its historical this way, but the best we can get and i dont know if its even possible.

Thank you so far for your great work!

As my education and memory fails me on this perticular era of history i might be a bit of, but in Europé the HRE/Germans were involved quite a bit. So id like A lot of German states like Bohemia, Saxony, Siesia/Slashia(spell chack) and so forth.

Is it possible to "remove" the westernmost indian tribe/'s and Chergit Khanate/Georgia maybe, whitout ruining some "important event/faction" ??

I really like that you added Brunswick-Lüneburg.
Certainly Wurttemburg changed to Protestant and Bohemia as a faction would be my choice. Could you replace Saxony just like you mentioned about Wurttemburg? Since you're replacing two existing that doesn't mean you have to delete two others does it? Or if you just changed the religion in name and then added other bonuses with the relations of the rest of the Protestant nations to make up for not being able to change it completely be a compromise?

I think keeping Brandenburg and Prussia as you have it now is best, like you said, limited factions and to split them just for 24 years out of a 100 or so might not be worth the trouble.

I would like to see the Ottoman Empire more aggressive or less inclined to make peace and trade with all the Christian nations and Austria less inclined to make peace with England and Ottomans and behave more like it really did.

I know, the CAI is not exactly easy to mod, just ideas.

Did you get my PM re kv tables? I sent it with links but it shows it didn't send.

Hey Geronimo, are you still working on this?

IMO Bohemia should be independent from the start, possibly Transylvania as well. Or not, considering that making the Transylvania rooster which would be quite different might require a lot of work. Brandenburg-Prussia should be united from the start, less work.

Also, I haven't played the mod yet [ waiting for it to get in more advanced development stages] but I think renaming Westphalia/the rhineland faction as County Palatine of the Rhine and Hannover as Brunswick/properly adding their faction symbols would be nice. With the Palatinate,Transylvania, Bohemia, Brunswick, Saxony, Bavaria, Brandenburg and Sweden it's perfectly possible to emulate the 30YW, and that'd be cool.

In the next release Wurtemberg and Saxony will be Protestant. WTTR managed to do this.

If you ask Lordsith, he might be able to help you add more regions, he's managed to convert trade nodes into provinces!

Sorry I didn't see this, but see you found the thread all the same. Best of luck with getting the details, sounds like this could be the closest thing to an EU4/Total war crossover (i.e, perfection) yet attempted! I'm a specialist in 17th century music if you ever need anything in that respect, also had some success at enlarging and editing battlefields if that's of interest too

I'll include 17th century music if we have permission.
