    Default Artillery projectile

    Hello, I was playing with Ballista/Giant Ballistas with aim to change ammunition to bolts/large bolts.So far I was able to change default projectile to be bolts and allow Ballistas to fire even Flammable Bolts but looks like there are some rules.I´m able to have one deflault ammunition, one flammeable, one explosive. But no other combination. I can achieve artillery with only default ammunition or def + flammable / explosive but nothing more like default bolts + two different flammable is not possible. More then three ammunition are not showing in UI...Anybody else was experimenting with these?All the time Ballista animation is showing loading of stone....even if it´s then firing (Flammable) Large Bolts. That is probably connected with Ballista models... ??Any idea where might be setting which allow only 1 def + flammable + explosive icon?

    After a few more tests...Ballistas are showing animation of loading stone all the time and are switching to right ammunition just before "firing". Same is true even for Bolts,explosive pots,flammable stones.... but with bolt there is graphical glitch. Bolts are not lying as you would expect them but at the right angle to the direction of fire....

    So I quess there is nothing more we can do here..

    I think the artillery pieces themselves have variantmeshes, try editing that. I don't really understand what you are trying to do with the projectile settings. Can you explain that more?

    Hello Sebidee. I had more time to think about the whole thing so now it might be more understandable. Anyway sry for my english.


    Idea is to switch rock/stone ammunition to Bolts/Large Bolts for Ballistas/Giant Ballistas. Why? Just for fun...

    In DB there are two interesting tables for us (one more but not so crucial):

    Projectice_tables - with all different ammunitions

    Missile_weapons_tables - setting default ammunition for our artillery

    Missile_weapons_to_projectiles_tables - setting optional ammunitions

    There are three types of ammunition - default (non Flammable), Flammable and Explosive. From my testing it looks like there could be only 1 Default ammunition, 1 Flammable and 1 Explosive for any artillery at the same time. Or combination of these like only Default, Default+Explosive... We cannot have at the same time Flammable Bolts and Flammable Rocks and Flammable Stones.

    If you will try to associate more versions of the same type of ammunition with artillery it will not show up in-game. So in order to change the ammunition for Ballistas to be Bolts edit lower tabs to be:

    Missile_weapons_tables:







    rome_ballista_giant -> bolt_large








    rome_ballista_medium -> bolt


    Missile_weapons_to_projectiles_tables:





    rome_ballista_giant stone_large_flammable -> bolt_flammable_large






    rome_ballista_medium rock_flammable -> bolt_flammable


    (Missile_weapons_to_projectiles_tables is working only when I´m not renaming it in my pack file.)

    the problem is the model you are using is not made to be used like that. you probably need to create a new arrow model and position it so that it sits properly

    ^ Yeah that's right. The only way to give them a bolt is to change the models.
