    15, 5, 6.

5% troops dead, 6% of loot. Again, huge numbers, 5% of L Inf. I'm going to put some sort of cap on how many can die, as people are raiding with loads of troops. 3,000 Dragons.

Army can't move until 0600 June 19. Again, assuming a typo, because this is currently the 18th of June and the time you arrive at was nearly 22 hours ago.

Edit: I've been told your dates may not be wrong, but you've waited this long to post them, so the 6 hours stationary requirement until 0600 stands. You can't wait almost a full day to post your raid and then claim instant movement as back-payment, that defeats the purpose of the 6 hour stationary period.

OOC: Since I'm in a different time zone (6 hours difference, so often on a different day when posting at night or morning) and my head's in a bit of a whirl calculating all the back and forth, that sounds good to me.

Unbeknownst to the Riverland host at Rayonet, two forces of the Royal Army, one commanded by Rhaegar Targaryen and another by Oberyn 'the Viper', numbering 40,000 approach them from the south with great speed. The First Royal Army, commanded by Rhaegar Targaryen, approaches ahead of the Third Royal Army. Around 24,000 Crownlanders approach Rayonet, prepared to do battle with the invaders of their home.

OOC: Due to the absence of cavalry doing screening and no precautionary methods put into place, I wish for a roll chance of a surprise attack upon the Riverlanders by Rhaegar.

    Surprise roll:
    16/20 chance of success.

    Rolled a 15.

The Loyalist forces descend upon the Rivermen outside Rayonet without being discovered, giving them a clear advantage in the upcoming battle. (+4 to battles)

    ----

I will need battle orders and flanks before rolling the battle.

Since we finally got orders this morning and Jokern doesn't have time today to roll out the battle, I have taken over the rolling of this battle so we can get it finished today.

    Ambush at the Blackwater Rush

Initial Clash – Infantry vs. Infantry:

The Loyalist are able to win two of the three flanks against the Riverlanders, with the Crownlander left flank commanded by Lord Jon Connington just barely losing.

    Reserves Commited:

The committing of reserves by both flanks does not change the battle’s outcome. The Riverlander reserve is not enough to turn either of its lost flanks while the Crownlander Cavalry reserve fail in their encirclement due to enemy marksmen. With the commitment of both reserves, all flanks are at max casualty rolls

Open Assassination Attempt on Prince Rhaegar:

An attempt to kill Prince Rhaegar during the battle is a failure, but only just. The assainatino force commanded by Ser Jonothor Paragon is able to initially able to get close to Prince Rhaegar. However, due to their center beginning to collapse, the assassination force is quickly pushed back by their opponents.

    Encirclement Attempt:

An attempt by Prince Rhaegar’s army to encircle the RIverlander host was only partially successful. While the Prince’ left and right flanks were able to hold and prevent the Riverlanders from escaping through either of those directions, the 1,200 heavy cavalry assigned to encircle the Riverlander failed in their task after being driven off by the Riverlander reserves.

    Battle Result:

Winning two of the three flanks,a nd just barely losing the third, the Loyalist win the battle.

    Casualties:

Loyalist: 20% across all flanks and reserves
Riverlanders: 30% during the battle, 15% (rolled a 3* 5% = 15%) of the remaining men killed during the rout, for an overall loss total of 40% killed

    Surviving Men:

    Loyalist:
    2,688 Heavy Infantry
    5,760 Light Infantry
    3,840 Polearm Infantry
    3,744 Archers
    2,880 Light Cavalry
    960 Heavy Cavalry

    19,512 Men Total

    Riverlanders:

    2,367 H Inf
    5,621 L Inf
    2,959 Polearms
    3,000 Archers
    277 Cav

    14,224 Men Total

    Post-Battle Wounded Rolls:

    Prince Rhaegar: Free
    Lord Jon Connington: Arm wound
    Ser Jon Darry: Free

    Ser Jonothor Paragon: Free

Riverlander Army will retreat back to nearest High Lordship Keep which is Harrenhal.

Since this battle has taken so long to roll, movement times will be disregarded for both armies. (We are 36 plus hours behind when the battle first began).

    Mod Notes:

The majority of the rolls were fairly close to each other (11 v. 13 for example), producing a lot closer of a battle then expected. The +4 attack bonus from the ambush was v. pretty much what gave the Loyalist Army the edge in this battle.

The battlefield was quite a mess. Reports said that some 10,000 Riverlanders were killed compared to an estimate of 5,000 Crownlanders. Rhaegar surveyed the battlefield quietly as his horse trotted among medical personnel and patrols that killed off any enemy that was dead. His ears catch the sounds of horns as the Third Royal Army arrived. He sighed lightly, grateful they had arrived on time, but something disturbed the Crown Prince. An army of over 20,000 had entered the Crownlands undetected and unmolested. What if more were nearby? The Prince calls up a patrols of light cavalry to begin their search.

Oberyn arrived with his forces to find he'd missed an unscheduled battle, disappointing, though the Viper was certain there would be other chances at blood and battle and glory. He found his way toward the Silver Prince. It would seem I am late..

Only by a margin. The battle just ended. We paid a price, but the Riverlanders paid double.

Rhaegar turns his gaze to Oberyn.

If so many penetrated this deep into the Crownlands, there must be more. I sent out scouts to look around.

A few days later a rider arrives.

"From Lord Rykker, your Grace!" said the man, dropping to his knees, bowing his head and holding forth a sealed letter.

    "Your Grace,

We have seized upon a Riverman force besieging Rosby quite by accident, and have driven them from the field with an estimated three thousand dead. Our own losses are some one and a half thousand, paltry in comparison! This Lefford you gave me has proven an able cavalryman, as well, commanding the vanguard of the army in the attack on their siege camps. I must also commend Lord Rollingford for an inspired encirclement of the furthest away camp with light foot in the midst of the battle, cutting off many would-be routing Rivermen, and Ser Hardy - a cousin of Lord Hardy I believe - for his saving of my life: I bear a leg wound that might have been added to with a fatal chest wound had Ser Hardy not cut down three capable men alone to protect my person.

We rest at Rosby for the time being, as the army is exhausted after this short, but very brutal, combat. We aim to continue to Cracklaw soon and I send this messenger while we remain close at hand to inform you of this small, but satisfying, victory.

    Lord Rykker"

So it would seem.. he took stock of the carnage all about him. Many Crownlanders heaped upon the ground face first in the mud, but many more Rivermen. A wise move, if there are any other rebels in the Crownlands we best root them out, or it'll be all our necks.

A screening of 2,000 Light Cavalry is sent to keep an eye on the nearby area while operations continue to pile the dead and tend to the wounded. Rhaegar gazes at a man whose leg was being amputated.

It is the best move I can consider.

He takes the dispatch who came up and reads it quietly. Then sighs, troubled even more now.

The Second Royal Host encountered another Riverland host. Smaller than the one here, but it still confirms my suspicions.

A dispatch rider arrives at the tent of Rhaegar later that day. The Crown Prince takes the dispatch and reads it quietly for a moment before he realizes the intent of this dispatch. It was the needed information in which he could end this war. He quickly writes some orders for Oberyn while another secret order is written for Ser Jon Darry and Lord Jon Connington. The Crown Prince mounts his horse and rides off for Bronzegate, his retinue numbers around 9,000 strong when the Crown Prince departs southward with great haste

    Lord Jon Connington, Rayonet

The hand's left arm still pained him, although Raynet's maester had done his best the wound had been very ugly. A footman had shoved a spear in Conningtons arm, striking him at his unprotected elbow, while the spear did little damage itself it had pushed his ringmail into the flesh of his left arm and the process to take them out was very painful. Overall the battle had been a victory but the Griffin's flank had lost, just barely, but his men were pushed back reeling. The Hand had dared too much, risked too much and thousands paid with their lives including nine men of his own personal guard some of them men he knew since childhood. His failures might have haunted him had they not won the battle, Rhaegar won despite all my failures.Connington rose infirmly, he wanted to attend the war council and see Rhaegar but he was interrupted by one of the Prince's own messengers.

Jon seized the letter and rode it fast, tears started to form in his eyes He rides now to glory and death and I set here wasting away in a Maester's tent. Jon Connington shuddered at the thought of losing his Prince but he had orders and he decided to fullfil them even if it was the last thing he ever did. Turning to the messenger he ordered "Find Ser Tytos Marchwood and command him to saddle all my men, we ride to King's Landing in earnest." The boy scurried off and the hand rose still in pain and milk of the poopy, he turned to his squire Donnel Galemont who skulked in a corner of the tent. "Fetch my armour." The boy, bown haired, small and thin replied corcerned "Maester Brynden said you should rest." Jon sighted "The time for resting is long pass."
"We all know whatmy brother would do. Robert would gallop up to the gates of Winterfell alone, break them with his warhammer, and ride through the rubble to slay Roose Bolton with his left hand and the Bastard with his right. I am not Robert. But we will march, and we will free Winterfell … or die in the attempt."
