Default Quick question about Leukaspides Pikemen (White Shields)

Are Leukaspides Pikemen supposed to have less armour than standard pikemen? Mine are getting shredded by missile troops much worse than my standard pikemen, due to the drop in armour I suppose. I understand the other increased stats, including better stamina would be greatly beneficial in an extended melee, but as it stands these elite troops are getting punished so bad early in the battle that I often have to withdraw them before they can shine.

TBH im not really having this problem at all, but thats probably because i focus fire my 4 slinger units on each and every ranged units the enemy has before the main engagement and when the lines clash.

Try take out the enemy archer/ranged units using micro'd focus fire from slingers, they will be reduced to a insignificant threat most of the time before they do real damage

That strategy was working for me for a while, but now I'm going up against armies also using slingers. I never have a significant window to attack their slingers before the lines crash, as they always charge their troops in advance of their missile troops. I'm not having a problem winning battles, as my regular pikemen are always able to hold the line. I've just been surprised that my Leukaspides are taking significantly more casualties than my regular pikemen. I was just wondering if this was intended. I'm basically going to fire them and back-tech to all regular pikemen. I'll lose the leadership morale boost that Leukaspides bestow, but I think it is worth it.
