Default Reclaiming ancient rights, Balon Greyjoy ravages the Riverlands

Long ago did the Fishermen of the western shore fear raiders out of the sea who would come to kill, rape and pillage. However the reign of the dragons brought them peace as the Ironmen were forced back to their isles by the might of dragon-fire but now the Dragons are all dead and the reign of the Dragonkings approaches a bloody end and what is dead may never die, but rises again, harder and stronger. So it is true with the Old Way to the great woe of the Fishermen who lived on this shore, and they prayed to their seven gods "Save us from the wrath of the Ironborn".

Balon Greyjoy, deck of the Iron Kraken

Nothing had ever tasted as the sea salt on Balon's tongue when sailing, or sounded as glorious as the beat of waves This is our time! Now we will be great again! From the deck of his Longship Iron Kraken Lord Balon Greyjoy, The Greyjoy, smiled with pride. All around beneath the Kraken sails men scurried about, oarsmen rowed, crewmen lowered the proud sails and warriors quietly prepared themselves praying silent prayers or sharpening their cruel weapons. The night was clear, with a new moon and a light mist so Balon ordered their sails lowered and all lights extinguished so they could approach the coast in silence. As they drew nearer the men could spot a small fishing village on the coast, fickle lights coming from the homes of the oblivious fishermen and all their little boats in harbour. Balon grinned and signaled to his first mate, Olic "Black Tongue", so named for his vulgar speech, standing proud on the deck he gave encouraging words to his men making sure to never shout in order not to give their positions away.

"Ironmen this is a glorious day. For today is the first step on the long journey to reclaim our glory. Over yore you can see the Greenlanders in their little huts, with their little skiffs, fishing in waters that are rightly ours. It is our right, no our duty, to take what is ours. To spoil the weak so the strong may live. So come with me now, for glory and plunder. What is dead may never die...." The Ironmen answered silently "What is dead may never die." Balon turned once more to the prow, they were approaching Now we take what is ours!

Balon Greyjoy, Cape of the Eagles

The Greenlanders had put a greater resistance then he expected but they were conquered nevertheless, around the village where he had landed everything that could burn was burning, the screams of the dying echoed and woman sobbed as they were taken. Balon knew these men to be inferior yet he respected the men who had fought him, even thought all three lay dead one of them left a wound on his left arm. The Lord Reaper was overseeing the looting and transport of goods back to the sea, meanwhile men were being taken to the sea to be drowned as sacrifices to He Who Dwells Beneath The Waves.

After three days of pillage and rape and with the ships fuller with thralls and salt-wives Lord Greyjoy ordered the fleet departed and personally led a squadron towards Mistlewood, further North. The Mist was thick by the time they arrived at the coast and little could be spotted except the lights of some lonely house on the shore, Balon led his men ashore quietly on rowing boats. The House in question was small, two storied and build with old wood from the forest nearby, lights emanated from the kitchen window as nineteen rugged Reavers approached the hut. Balon sent his men to encircle the homestead and personally kicked their fragile door to the ground, the family inside, a father, mother, two sons and three daughters all looked in terror as four sons of the sea bearing mighty axes swooped in. The head of the family's head was split by a swing of Red Ralf's longaxe and his son's arm was twisted until it cracked by Frenyrd, his mother tried to pick fight with a kitchen pot but Balon swept it aside with ease before kicking her into the ground. The Lord Reaper turned to the frightened survivors and laughed "Greenlanders should not live so close to the sea knowing there are Ironborn nearby." The peasants screamed.

OOC: Raid roll for Mistlewood please:
    100 Levy Ships (2000 Raiders)

    Balon Greyjoy, Seagard

For many years before the Targaryens the Ironborn raided the shores around Seagard whose name and it's great bell-tower originated from there, however today no bells were rang and no castle could guard the defenseless from the wrath of the Lord Reaper, by right of conquest he would take what he wanted. Balon was in a foul mood today, the wound on his left arm had swollen and even thought he had treated it with hot fire and salt water it still pained him and he expected some foul trick of the Storm God. The Lord of Pyke decided to take off his anger and pain on the poor villagers on the coast so he ordered to his first-mate Olic "Black Tongue": "Today there will be no mercy, no thralls or salt-wives. Kill them all."
"But my Captain you would deprive the men of their fun?"
"Let them have them if they wish but slit their throats after." The Lord Reaper was in a foul mood, and none would survive it.

    Aeron Greyjoy, Kanet

The deck came spinning to meet Aeron straight in the face, he barely felt the pain drunk as he was, he vomited once, and then again. There lying in a pool of own vomit was the captain Aeron Greyjoy, brother of Lord Balon and sixth in line for Pyke, his newest Salt Wife, a fisherman's daughter from the Cape of Eagles looked him with disgust. Aeron might have done something if he could stand up and see straight he made an effort to do so but fell again. "Dagon! Dagon!" And through the door came a large man with a triangular black beard and a bald head, he was Aeron's first mate who despised him. "You called my Lord?" The giant of a man also looked him with disgust, if Aeron was truthful the man would make a much better captain then he but the world was not fair. "How close are we to.... what is it called? Kany?" Aeron turned around and sat before wiping the vomit from his beard as best he could. "Kanet my lord, we are approaching shore." The captain was now standing up, he took a flimsy foot and looked at his surroundings searching for his armour and sword. Sitting on his bed was the fisherman's daughter, bare breasted with long auburn hair falling to her shoulders She is a beauty. Aeron turned and found Dagon looking at her too, lustly The world is not fair at all.

    Balon Greyjoy, Oldstones

Lord Greyjoy stared without compassion at the grave of old King Tristifer IV, the Hammer of Justice. Even in the Iron Islands legends of him were heard, indeed the Old Kraken had been one of the seven Andal Kings in the coalition to defeat him. Balon could respect such a man but he knew destroying his memory was a much greater message, the captives he had brought squealed when the first hammer came hard on the tombstone breaking the stony face of the ancient King. A knight, a maester and a lady whom he had captured on a nearby road all beaten, bound and horrified at the defiling of the Ancient King's grave. More blows were heard and the sarcophagus was smashed to pieces, inside they found no Kingly skeleton still retaining it's nobility, instead dust and a rusty armour were all the years had left of poor Tristifer. One of his men, Olic "Black Tongue" raised from the tomb a rusty bronze warhammer. "The bloody Hammer of justice!" The reaver announced loudly before giving it to Balon, the Lord examined the ancient weapon wondering how many it had killed in it's time.

Shrugging Balon walked over to his prisoners who cowered before him, raising his hand he slammed the hammer or the Maester's face. It broke, as he expected, but the splinters turned the man's head into a bloody mess and his screams echoed through the night, Balon whipped out his sword and beheaded the gray rat in one swift motion. His other captives looked at him with terror wondering what cruel fate the sea raider had reserved for them, the captor looked at them for a long time specially at the woman. She was blond of hair and had shapely curves so Balon declared "Take her back to the Iron Kraken." Half thankful she would keep her head and half terrified of the life of a salt-wife she was carried away by two Ironborn reavers. The Knight, one proud and pompous smelled of piss and looked deathly afraid. Lord Greyjoy punched him in the face and raised his sword, but cut off the man's bindings. "Run along now and spread the word of what you saw here." The Knight picked up and ran, Balon knew his message was clear, not even the mightiest Riverkings could withstand the Ironborn's wrath.

    Aeron Greyjoy, Gravesham

The captain stumbled out of his ship, piss drunk, trying to bravely lead his men into battle. There was a village just ahead they meant to raid, Aeron couldn't see it clearly but he assumed it was no bigger then a dozen houses, he saw the shadows of his men passing in front of him although he could not exactly discern them. Greyjoy felt the sand in his mouth then, as he fell with a great stumble onto the beach he could now see some houses burning brightly in the village likely by fire, he heard some screams and some battle-cries. Then he saw nothing, heard nothing and passed out cold.

    OOC: Aeron has
    10% Ironborn loot
