    Default BOB error

Hello everyone! I have recently taken up simple modelling by just importing models from M&B models through 3ds max. The only problem is I keep getting this error

    Texture folder: variantmeshes/_variantmodels/man/helmets/tex
ERROR: Weighted mesh 'gondor_footman_helm_lod1 subobject 0' is trying to use a Rigid Mesh shader 'standard'.
    Failed.

originally I had the problem saying it had no material but fixed it. Thanks in advance for any help!

*UPDATE* I think it is because of the weight painter tool. I cant paint at all no matter what. I click it and do all the necessary steps but nothing is actually changes. Hopefully someone can help out.

Look at the options of where you select paint weights. There is a button called "Paint Blend Weights" Make sure that is unchecked. See if that helps.

could it have something to do with the weight table? For instance I noticed that all of the x's were on the N and M, with the furthermost right value all set to 1.000. Not sure if this is correct.

Are you loading the gondor helmet into a pre-existing 3dsmax file CA gave us, then deleting their model?

I'm also getting the same error.

And the error it's giving me.

I don't know if these pictures might help you find the error we're experiencing, but I hope it will.

    Thanks in advance.

Are you used a weighted shader? I'll take a screenshot if you need to see what I mean.

You guys need to load the "ca_shader" located in the "assembly_kit\max_exporter\max_shader" it helps you able to put the textures on the models in the way Rome II can read it.

Where would I load it? I only read it as put the 'ca_shader.fx' file inside your Autodesk/3ds max/maps/fx, folder.

Load one of the files you mean to work on like the roman helmet that comes with the kit. Here is a tutorial that shows how to do it. http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showt...-Up-and-Helmet

Yea I linked him to that and we both used it at first. I did find a work around though, go to edit envelope and then select "vertices" right under the edit envelope button (under the modify tab). Then select the entire helmet and then right click and use the "Weight tool dialog". you can assign weight values from there. This seems to stop that error and allows me to export. However it seems like a time consuming process and would still like a fix to this one.

also does anyone know the bones I need to rig chest for armor? it only comes up with ref_bonename. None of those seem to work.

Unfortunately your fix didn't work for me. Unless I've of course messed something up in the process of finding the solution. I'll try remaking the whole thing and trying what you posted.

@lazser On the menu on the Right hand side of the screen select the fifth Tab know as "Display" then you will see a little box that says "CAT bone", "Bone", and so on. You want to select CAT Bone. The bones from the skeleton will appear. Then you go back to the Skin Modifier and add the bones to your list. And to make the bones disappear just go to "Display" and select "Bone" again and they will be hidden.

Beercake this might help : http://vimeo.com/85353788 It's video showing the steps.
