Region's growth rate?
Can someone tell me how to adjust the growth rate in a region? I would like to slow it down considerably.
Thanks.

Re: Region's growth rate?
It would be easiest to simply add to the food surpluses needed for a settlement to grow. That's in DB-Campaign_variables. Scroll down until you get to variables talking about settlement development point cost (it will start with settlement, if memory serves correctly). The numbers entered are the pop surpluses needed to fill the respective slots. Set them as high as you want.

Well I took a look and I could only find province development. I played around with that and didn't see any change.

Re: Region's growth rate?
Ah right. DeI doesn't have them. New plan.
Add the following 8 rows to the DeI campaign variables:
settlement_development_point_cost_secondary_slot_1
settlement_development_point_cost_secondary_slot_1_province_capital
settlement_development_point_cost_secondary_slot_2
settlement_development_point_cost_secondary_slot_2_province_capital
settlement_development_point_cost_secondary_slot_3
settlement_development_point_cost_secondary_slot_3_province_capital
settlement_development_point_cost_secondary_slot_4
settlement_development_point_cost_secondary_slot_4_province_capital
The base values in vanilla:
1
1
4
3
7
5
9
7
Obviously, provincial capitals = major cities, the others are the minor city slots.

Re: Region's growth rate?
Thanks a lot. I think I understand now, I just have one more question regarding the base values before I start fooling around with this... When I adjust those, are they multiples? As in if I change a 1 to a 2 does that mean it will take twice as long for the region to grow?

Re: Region's growth rate?
You are changing the population surpluses required to build a new building. So, typically if it takes 4 population surpluses, and you change the value from 4 to say 6, it's going to take 6. The growth rate is tied to a lot of things.

Re: Region's growth rate?
There is also a campaign variable you can change that will specifically increase the growth number required for the next level.
