    Default Unpacking error

A friend is experience a problem, he tries to unpack the game and get the message that this .dll file is missing, why is that?

    The error translates as:

"The programme can't be started, as MSVCP71.dll is missing on the computer. Install the program again to fix the problem."

But the file is present at the game folder, as can be seen in this second screenshot:

So Irishron, any insight on what's going on?

Youare using Windows newer than XP.
Copy all those MS***.dll's fromt he main folder in with the unpacker. Also disable the UAC or you'll only get ~26k unpacked.

Sorry, I don't get it, copy all the files from the main folder, and do what exactly?

To make it as simple as I can, all the files with the extension .dll below medieval2.preferences, copy them to tolls\unpacker folder.

Have you disabled the UAC, yet?

All 35k+ files unpacked? I've been having this discussion since Microsoft released Vista upon the unsuspecting customer expecting security issues to be like XP. 7 or 8 years now? This User account Control is not user friendly in my opinion.

I remember that the unpacker needed a lot of time to do its job,so yes.
As for the UAC,I disabled it when installing Stainless Steel, and I haven't enabled it since then.

I disabled it when I read about it after Vista's release and every Windows install since.

My friend claims his unpacker simply closes, without notice, after some 10 or 20 minutes running. He says nothing new is added to his game file, therefore, it didn't work. What is it, and how can it be solved?

He already disabled the UAC. What else could be doing this?

Did he search his drive(s) in Computer after unhiding all files, folders, and drives in Computer?
Has he tried taking ownership of C: drive even though Sig1 only used Med2 or Sega folder? I don't remember which.
