Congratulations to the winners!
It's been a long time coming! For weeks we sat in epic suspense waiting for the competition to begin! But at last, five brave and mighty writers with quills inked and paper ready took up the call and even though there were a few tiebreakers here we are at the end of yet another amazing MAARC! Here are the winners of the MAARC XLIX...
FIRST PLACE is taken by Lugotorix's The Bastard Son of Hannibal Barca. This Rome 2 AAR follows the Barcid dynasty of the infamous city state of Carthage. Read as Carthage forges itself in the ancient world. This first place placing is worthy of this well crafted AAR.
Our SECOND PLACE winner is: General Retreat's Swords of the Sea. Once again this magnificent AAR was grace the winner's circle of the MAARC. His account of the Normans in England and their struggle to remain in power is a riveting read and one that brings back readers time and time again. Keep those updates coming!
The second place position was a highly contested battle between the next two AARists but after an intense voting period it has been decided. Now make some noise for our THIRD PLACE winners (Yes I said winners): Chirurgeon's and his AAR The Children of the Forest and Dance and his AAR Judicator of Elysium. The Children of the Forest follows the exploits of the Germanic tribe of the Suebi as they fight to establish themselves in Europe, a great Rome 2 AAR. Judicator of Elysium is a Skyrim AAR describing a man seeking justice in a world that seems devoid of justice. Magnificent!

Here's the Easter Egg I promised. The game actually crashed after the siege of Tarentum, during the civil war. So here is Malchio's second, and story-line accurate, death sequence that his wife would approve of.
