House Harlaw
"The Ruthless Survive"
Incumbent Lord: Ivar "The Ragged" Harlaw, Lord of Harlaw, Lord of Ten Towers, Harlaw of Harlaw
Ten Towers is home to the richest and one of the most powerful of the Ironborn families; House Harlaw. This powerful family, with a proud bloodline which relates the house to many Iron Kings, controls the entire island of Harlaw, which is rich in gold and iron mines, owing to their prosperity and survival as a house. Ten Towers itself is a relatively new creation, constructed by Lord Theomore Harlaw after he lost three sons due to the damp and flooded conditions of the previous seat, Harlaw Hall. Ten Towers is, in essence, ten castles smashed together, a bizarre sight to see, but it is a hard fortress to capture. Built on the edge of a cliff overlooking the beach of Harlaw, the sheer scale of Ten Towers makes it difficult to assault, as well as it's position on high and rocky ground. The naval might of house Harlaw is present in the docks below the fortress, while a force of trained yet brutal retainers patrol the castle in the name of their new Lord. Fisherman linger along the beach, small rowing boats dotting the rough ocean that surrounds the fortress.
A large town is present underneath the fortress, where the bustling day to day life of the town continues on, oblivious to everything that occurs off the island, their world dominated by the seemingly magnificent fortress that lords over them all, quietly observing.
