House Yronwood was once the greatest house in all of Dorne, with holdings significantly greater than that of the Martells of Sunspear; those days have passed, but Yronwood still remains a powerful house in it's own right, commanding unquestionable influence over the north of Dorne. For centuries, they have guarded the Boneway from those who would enter Dorne from the northern border, from the formidable Yronwood Castle, their seat of power.
Yronwood Castle is a nigh impregnable fortress from the northern side of Dorne; practically the only way into Dorne from the Stormlands would be to capture Yronwood. Not an easy task, as the already tough fortress is surrounded by rocky clifface, meaning that the only entrance is through the heavily guarded and fortified North Gate.
Guard of the Boneway: Yronwood sits at the entrance to the Boneway Pass, and defends Dorne from any intruders seeking to traverse the Red Mountains from the Stormlands. As a result, the castle is highly fortified on the Northern side. +3 to siege defense against attacks from the North.
