Default Greywater Watch. The Neck. Seat of House Reed.

    The Neck
The Neck is a swamp and marsh-filled region of Westeros. It is located where the waters of the bite and the blazewater draw close to one another, making this region the narrowest part of the continent. Originally, the Neck was a much more pleasant location, but during the war between the Children of the Forest and the First Men, the Children called upon sorcery to break the continent in two. Their magic failed, and merely flooded the Neck from coast to coast, creating the bogs and swamps that remain to this day.

    Greywater Watch

The ancestral home of House Reed, Greywater Watch sits on a massive crannog, constructed ages ago. The floating island is made of countless layers of wooden logs, branches, rocks, clay, peat, and other earthen materials. At the center of the crannog several stone hearths are built from neatly placed flat rock slabs, and huge keep surrounds them, made of wood and stone. Around the fringe of the floating crannog is a thick, sturdy wooden palisade, sharpened into deadly spikes at the top and laced with poisonous vines growing on the outside. Greywater Watch is nigh impossible to locate, and enter for anyone other than the crannogmen, for it constantly moves throughout the shifting wetlands of the Neck and the building is alien in its construction. It is located deep within the swamps and mires of the Neck. It is the southern-most stronghold of the North and the principal fortress of the crannogmen who live on the Neck. Hundreds of armies of the River Kings and Andals and ironmen, Freys and others have attempted to conquer Greywater, but none returned from within the Neck.

    reywater Watch Bonuses:

-Wandering Castle: Greywater Watch is built on one of the strange floating islands found in the swamps of the Neck, and is notoriously difficult to find. Any wishing to seige the castle must roll to see if they can find it (10% chance). If they do not, they may try again in a year.
-Dangerous Swamps: Greywater Watch is surrounded by bogs and marshlands, almost impossible to navigate without a local guide. Any army wishing to pass through the neck must either have the permission of whoever holds Greywater Watch or lose a % of their men dependent on a d20 (so up to 20%)

    Mossbow Creek

In the heart of the Neck lies Mossbow Creek. It's a slow, creeping creek made for long spring days full of fishing, frog gigging, and picking herbs, and chilly winter of nights frost-breathed, moon-lit walks along her banks, accompanied by the quieted hum of insects, the rolling croak of bullfrogs, and the gentle gurgle of the creek that eventually feeds into the Green Fork.

    Marsh Hall

The ancestral home of the Marsh Kings, the keep of Marsh Hall lies along the wetland coast of the Saltspear, near the lazy mouth of the Fever River. The surrounding land is heavily wooded to the south and east, swampland to the west, and a long stretch of salt marsh to the north. The keep itself is actually more of a wooden manor house, old paint with dusky green framing, set on a solid stone foundation. What the hall lacks in outer defenses, be they stone walls or wooden palisade, Marsh Hall makes up for in its moat. The floodwaters from the nearby salt marsh form a huge pond around the stone base of the keep, surrounding Marsh Hall with a huge moat, leaving it inaccessible but for by one of the tiny skin boats favored by the crannogmen. The quarters inside are small but comfortable, more or less warm even throughout the winter. Hanging from the outside of Marsh Hall, several Stark banners emblazoned with the wolf of House Stark flutter and hop in the breeze, bringing to life the hundreds of croaks of the hidden toads in the surrounding pondwater moat. The old Moat thousands of years old are kept standing, renovated when needed, but none live there, for this is the residence of the Marsh King and his court, which is currently the Starks, who live at Winterfell.

    A letter arrives from Winterfell

"To the Castellan of Greywater Watch,

Winterfell wishes to know the progress of White Harbour in carrying out the instructions of Lord Stark to embody a militia for the defence of the homeland against any would-be opportunists while the Lords and the Armies fight in the south for our cause. More men are needed to form a defensive host of suitable size, in order to form a deterrent against those might consider our homes a target and to form a sword with which to strike at any who disturb the peace in the North.

A Stark sigil is inked at the bottom

    A letter from Winterfell,

    "Reed,

We thank you for the additional troops. They are currently at Winterfell, as Maric Stark departed westwards looking for the Ironborn raiders that plague the coast. I will hold them here until I receive word of Maric's whereabouts and can communicate with him via Raven.

I have also news of the war: the Dragon is slain! The armies should come home soon, I hope.

    Yours,

    Edric Condon
    Castellan of Winterfell"

[OOC: Providing that you allow her to speak with you I will just cut to the chase to speed things up.]

The envoy walks into your hall and you get a glimpse of her.
