Looks like a 'BecomesFactionLeader' crash. Or is the faction emerge event the culprit?
Let's try for the first possibility: make a copy of the export_descr_character_traits file. In the original search for the first instance of trigger. Delete everything from that line to the end, save. Reload game and see if you can get past the turn.
If that worked then save yoru game, exit and move the edited EDCT file somewhere else for a rainy day, restore the original EDCT's file name. Continue playing.
Thanks Gigantus, trimmed everything from that file after line 16505 but still CTD as soon as battle is over win or loose. Im running the version that was zipped up as a single archive for version 97
Changelog for SSHIP 097:
(as compared to the SSHIP97 with patch of 22.02.2020).
No other patches or modifications.
I haven't done anything, just run the save - and it went through. Here is the save.
You seem to have some problems: large scale plague, Antioch lost, three settlements besieged. But otherwise you're no 1. Looks like an interesting game.
Strange how the saves just seem to work for others in some cases. Anyway Appreciate the assist. Hopefully that wayward emperor doesn't keep causing CTD although I'm expecting a few as the Mongols arrive. Hopefully doesn't make it unplayable.
Plagues seem to be in between one and 6 settlements randomly each turn. Considering the number of provinces and the time I guess its part of doing business. France has 3 cities under siege in what would be South East France which I've held since the HRE departed the area 50 years earlier but I also have Troyes, Rheims under siege in the north and some spies should get me into Paris all on the same turn. 3 cities for maybe the loss of one city temporarily isn't bad considering I didn't start the fight - France was one of my Allies by wedding 2 turns before. Oh well. Things are also busy on the other side of the map with Eastern Romans but I'll trim them back before long and try again for a foothold in the Middle east. Jihad a few turns after moving into a city is always tough when its that far from home.
Can anyone remind me of how to remove the fog from the campaign map?
toggle_fow in console
auto_win attacker/defender in case you want to auto win battles (helps with some crashes etc)
But how do you activate the console ?

Hi guys. I've played Byzantium up to turn 160-165. Then warning event appeared for mongol invasion and then - nothing. No event popping up, no units. I've played until turn 250 and nothing. So I reinstalled the whole game and mods, cleared everything but saves. Nothing changed. On turn 250 I played again with no sign of mongols after going into next turn (I have used toggle_fow command).
Well, nothing changed for good after reinstall. I tried playing on saves from turn 155-158 to see if anything changes, but it went exactly the same. Warning for mongol invasion and no invasion at all for 7-8 turns and then something new - game crash on rebels turn. System.log file goes like this:

I tried like 6 times to start from saves before the mongol warning event, and all went sooner or later like that (in 5-8 turns).
I am playing on steam, Polish version of the game. I have installed mod in that order - 0.97, then patch G, then H, then Kostic Costumes (great work btw). I am using LAA for using more than 2GB ram and that helped with some issues in the past like crashing on rebel turn.
Now i don't have any idea what to do. Previously I was playing with minor issues, I have reinstalled game twice and mod also twice to successfully fix some crashes caused from missing some files. Also, after that I experienced a weird bug - some titles got shuffled. For example, general with Strategos of Thessalonica title was now Strategos of Brannenburg and I don't have that location.
Also, I think that other events like gunpowder fired accurately.
I was thinking about using steam files integrity tool, but I don't know if it's safe for mod and Kostic submod.
Re-installing everything but the saves does cannot change anything because the script.txt is read at the beginning for the game and stored in the save. So you're using the same script if you use the same save.
LAA is very useful indeed.
After re-installation your save is perhaps not compatible anymore. I've checked and Strategos of Branndenburg cannot appear in such a way. And such bugs are obvious manifestations of corruption - recently @macaras has experienced it in our dev trials. Very weird outcomes. The crashes after 7-8 turns are expected in such situation, and it's actually also somehow exceptional that you can run your save at all.
I wouldn't run steam integrity tool. I don't think it's safe with the submods, even if in theory is should be: mods are mod-foldered, so there should not be any interference.
I'll have a look at the Mongol issue - it's not a finished work.
"PopulationOwnReligion needs a character in a land region" can be fixed by adding the 'not AtSea' condition provided the WhenToTest event is suitable in general.
It's not fatal and won't have anything to do with the crash itself, given the time difference between entry and crash.
Yep, it's been fixed some time ago for the ver. 098:
Code:;------------------------------------------ Trigger Far_Loyalty_Minus_HappyAway WhenToTest CharacterTurnEnd Condition IsGeneral and Trait Far_Loyalty > 0 and Trait Xenophilia > 1 and PopulationOwnReligion < 50 and not AtSea and not Trait DiscontentGeneral > 0 and not InEnemyLands Affects Far_Loyalty -1 Chance 10
I've hit turn 109 in my serbia campaign and I am unable to play any battles; the game crashes just as the screen finishes loading. I can autoresolve and play other campaign battles well enough. The log seems to suggest a missing model?

I've hit turn 214 with Byzantium, and no matter if I go back several saves I get CTD, well I get quite frequently once 3 or 4 turns but can't pass this one.

@Jurand - have you tried running bovi's checker on your mod? It picks up missing unit files (LuckyPistol) and tons of other stuff (eg SINIGR - undeclared counters).
Passed the 214 turn for some reason after 8 hrs of rest (the PC) the game worked i am at 238 with 1 crash so far
good to know, thanks!
Yes, @Belovese has run it and fixed the issues.
It may well be true, it's an issue I've experienced eg in BtfB with the Norwegian king.
Perhaps @kostic would have a look when he's back from his holidays.
