    Well, I've meant to check it for the bugs on paper (ie in the text file). Every moder makes mistakes and checking for somebody else is always useful.

    For the moment, I know that there's something wrong with the probabilities for Corrupt and Embezzled - I'm looking for a solution here. I've checked that Teenager works, education as well, one may get GoodFarmer etc. But a check for errors will always be useful.

    Did you mean that you shouldn't delete Music.dat, Music.idx, SFX.dat, SFX.idx, Voice.dat and Voice.idx ? Only my events.dat and events.idx files ?
    So I made big mistakes because I deleted them all several times ... thinking that they were recreated exhaustively.

    They will be recreated, but you would need to unpack them first (see the sounds tutorial forum for that) to get access to the custom sound files. Without them any custom entry in the TXT files referencing a custom file will simply not create a sound.

    You will need to re-install - then make a copy of the data\sounds directory before experimenting again. ALWAYS make a copy of files you work with!

    Quick update about the missing voices/sounds issue: I've managed to get them to work on my english version of the game after having updated and having compiled the v0.9.6. I still have a couple of checks to be done but that part seems hopefully ok now.
    Next step: implement the descr_factions_accent.txt file for french and german versions to see if it works as well. If yes, I will send it for beta test to the relevant people for a final check

    Hi,

    I downloaded ss6.3 and ss6.4 into C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Medieval II Total War\mods\SS6.3.

    I run the launcher and 6.4 stainless steel + bug fixes runs. Then I install SSHIP into C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Medieval II Total War\mods\SS6.3\data

    but when I run the launcher sship doesn't run, ss6.4+bugfix does. I ran the setup before installing sship and checked savage ai and leave arrows. I believe I followed all the instructions, does anyone know how I can run sship? What could I be doing wrong?

    In Steam you can easily switch languages. To save you valuable time in case you need to switch back and forth between languages proceed as follows:

    1. in the data\sounds directory make backups of the voice.idx\dat files (1-3), eg create a sub directory with the name of your present language then copy those files into it
    2. in the packs directory make a backup of the localized.pack file (contains data\text directory files), eg create a sub directory with the name of your present language then copy that file into it

    Now it's simply a matter of copying the desired language's files into the default directory instead of downloading about 760MB every time. Please note that the changing of languages does not provide new sound idx\dat files (or pack files) other then the mentioned files, so do not delete any of the other files after your language change, else you falsify your test results.

    To test descr_sounds_accents only delete the events.idx\dat files. If you had provided the original sound files (mp3 etc) all you would need to do is then to provide the edited file plus zerobyte files for the idx\dat files. Now you will have to upload the newly generated event files. Luckily they are only 5MB or thereabouts.

    if at any time he'd get the point, then the probability is 0 for the next step.

    You don't need the bugfix package made for SS6.4 to run SSHIP. Try again without it. I'd also recommend you to read this tuto from Gigantus about how to run a mod on Steam.
    On my Steam version, I've used the installer way and it works fine

    This is exactly what I need, thanks, well-spotted! I've fixed for the next patch.

    Sloppy builders - ok, I've decreased the changes of getting it from 10 to 5% for not-building for all situations, and I've increaded the threshold when you get it for Drink (I believe this was the main culprit: it was enough to be Social Drinker and you'd have 10% chance for a point).

    Howdy guys. I get a crash on turn 333, log got this to say:

    when testing <PopulationOwnReligion> condition
    13:43:51.693 [game.script] [error] Trigger processing error in <Deranged_Not_Own_Religion>
    : PopulationOwnReligion needs a character in a land region.

    It always stops on Lithuanias turn. They got conquered by their neighbours and I believe they're supposed to respawn. Have the latest 22.2 patch.

    Not sure it has to do with the respawn script but it looks rather related to the character trait (see export_descr_character_traits.txt, line 50391). I think this one is for you JoC

    Don't think the trait is fatal unless the time stamp for the fatal error message (or the end of the log) is within a VERY short time span (less then 2\10 of a second, eg immediately after it in a trace log).

    Conditional (scripted) respawning might be an issue - inserting a wait 1.0 command into the script before the spawn takes place will allow any related processing (like death of leader) to finish and thus eliminate possible conflict, like the fickle 'BecomesFactionLeader' event (causes crashes when a faction leader dies in the battle when the last faction settlement falls). If it's regular spawning then it could become a possible bummer.

    Upload your save pls, I'll have a look at it. I don't think the Deranged_Not_Own_Religion makes a crash, I think I've seen it many times in the log. Furtheremore, it was in the previous versions of the SSHIP (092) and possibly in SS6.4 - if it'd be leathal, it'd have been fixed.

    Rename your current installation folder in whatever you want (current name should be SS6.3). Update accordingly the shortcut properties/paths.
    Re-install SS6.3 and SS6.4. Run the setup as explained here.
    Install SSHIP on top of it.

    That spawn should take place a good while after the faction has been defeated (looks like the 'standard' riot based re-emergence script, by withwnar and\or the EBII team I think), but for good measure and just in case the wait line would go here:

    If Jurand has noted several cases that indicate a problem with that trait trigger then definitely follow up on it as well. We had to de-active a number of default triggers in 1648 because they showed up too often at the bottom of a crash log. For posterity and in case it rings a bell, here the list:

    Could this be due to the fact the during the period the faction is destroyed and is respawning, the religion rate has changed to another one? Considering Lithuania again, that's the only pagan faction there. Being destroyed by one of its neighbouring faction, it would become obviously Christian or Orthodox. Then the re-spawn script comes and that "deranged" trigger is generated as well but as the character is not created yet, then we get that ctd

    It would depend on when the religion rate actually changes and when it is tested for. I have no clear when the former is, it will be calculated on a regional basis and I guess it would be at settlement turn end. According to withwhar that would be after characterturn events.

    Well, you can't fire a character event trigger if the character doesn't exist but you may be able to avoid an issue similar to what you describe by setting the trigger event to CharacterTurnEnd if it is 'start' now. The 'end' will be a while (relatively) after the spawn.

    Latest JoC's patch causes non-fixable CTDs for me too. Had to restart my campaigns 3 times now: first two CTD'ed in 70-ish turn, the latest one crashes at turn 41. It's unrelated to <Deranged_Not_Own_Religion>. In fact, I turned this trigger off, along with some other ones (as part of debugging, hoping to fix the crash).

    Also fixed some mistakes in export_desc_character_traits file, namely lines 33346, 50357 and some others - sorry, should have kept record. Long story short, you missed the "Trait" in some condition codes. E.g. you had this:

    and HaleAndHearty < 1

    Affects HaleAndHearty 12 Chance 100
    while the correct way to make it work is this:

    After fixing various issues from my system.log file, I ended up with pristine-clean log. But the game still crashes on me. Two major factions had been destroyed in my campaign (Lithuania and Abassids), so I've tried the "wait 1.0" method as Gigantus suggested for both these factions - no effect.

    Also tried turning off (by commenting out with ";" )the triggers from Gig's latest post:
