Are you sure to not have modified any files or to have any double files? I really can't understand how this is possible when there's no entry for such unit in the EDU, in the EDB and in the modeldb

I don't have SSHIP installed at the moment (were doing some stuff for Titanium) else I would check myself regarding the silver surfer. Did you read the referred thread all the way to the bottom? There are several BG's that are generically named 'Bodyguard' if my example is anything to go by (from export_units). You need to check each if it has pisa ownership in the EDU and then check the modelDB file if the texture entry is present.
Additionally to that are the silver mounts, those should be the mounts of the silver surfer BG, that goes from EDU to descr_mounts to modelDB as I mentioned here.
Edit: just noticed in the pic that the custom officer (flag bearer) is a silver surfer as well, which leads me to the assumption that someone must have simply added pisa to that BG's EDU ownership entry without any supporting textures for soldier, mount or officer. Doubtful it's original.

@ Gig, many thanks for your help on kostic issue. I'll also remove these files you mentionned. I think that I'll probably include directly SS6.4 in the next release. It should simplify the installation and solve some of the 'usual' issues like the missing voices f.e.

Creating torrents is pretty simple. Make sure you use a dedicated folder for the installation file(s), check my installer manual as well, it describes how to trigger batch files I think., if not get in touch with me.
Note of caution: once you include the original SS files (for which you won't get permission afaik) in your installation you loose the sub mod status (your least worry) and the permission to host your mod here on TWC.
Rather make sure that your installation instructions include reference to a proven method for SS (like mine ) which you can then use as base reference in bug hunting.

Conclusion - the only way Pisa can have any of those three units is by scripted spawn (campaign_script.txt file) or being placed at game start (descr_strat.txt), being available as mercenaries (descr_mercenaries.txt) is possible but highly unlikely given that they would be available to every faction, for nearly all of them as silver surfer.
Please provide these three files from the SS6.3\data\world\maps\campaign\imperial_campaign folder to follow up on these last possibilities.
I had a look at these folders Gig and if I get it right, these are the files taken into account by the game when you run the SS setup, depending which era the player chooses. However, The only way I see to remove/rename them for good woud be to include that function in the SSHIP installer, right?

Launcher - when you install your mod you overwrite the files present in the world folder, right? That is after an install of Stainless Steel that will automatically install either of those folders. What you want to prevent is the use of that particular launcher function AFTER the installation of your mod as that will really mess up your mod. If you remove what is supposed to be copied then that will not happen. Do not remove the folder, just it's content - that will avoid an error message in the launcher.
I haven't checked the re-emergent script , but it shouldn't support units that do not have ownership of the re-emerging faction. Afaik the command itself does not support individual units, if you have tied in a regular spawn and used one of these units then it's possible. I will simply trace each instance of these three units in the script and check if the spawn is pisa related. Even the kalmar script (transfer all) does not allow transfer of units that do not have a common ownership.
About the launcher, it depends of the files actually. I'm not a specialist of it but from what I recall, it replaces only the files included in SSHIP and merges the folders. When I made the launcher, I remember that I could also choose to delete some files. So basically, as the files/folders you mentionned aren't included in SSHIP, they remain untouched by the current installer.
That's why I originally thought to include SS with my mod, just to get ride of unused files like these (because that was the most simple way to proceed for me ). As I'm not allowed to do it (which is fine), I just need to find another way

Well a simple copy of the historic_events file from either the early or late directory into the default data\text folder is a guaranteed crash at some point in the campaign (missing entry = 'out of video memory' fatal error) unless you didn't add any new events to the script. Why they made that a 'variable' file is beyond me, it would have been far easier to simply merge it. That way you simply add new events into a default file instead of messing about with two files.

ME_Bodyguard - present in descr_strat and campaign_script as 'ME Bodyguard' (correction from previous post: it is recruitable with that spelling in the EDB but only for the original factions, not pisa)
ME_Late_Bodyguard - not present in any of the three files
Mongol_Bodyguard - not present in any of the three files

edit2: This is the only section in the campaign script (causing a silver surfer beyond doubt), starting at line 4979. It appears to be a copy\paste issue as this part repeats for factions where the ME BG unit is the default BG. (looks like a 'save the family tree from dying' script) A simple correction to the default BG of pisa will fix the issue - not save game compatible.
