To fix this, move the biological son trigger to after all the after coming of age triggers, and make it conditional that both BastardSon and BiologicalSon = 0. This problem is also part of the reason bloodlines tend to randomly break.
After all the other* coming of age triggers in the same section, that is. Antitraits can't be relied on ever, really. They don't do what the SS modders seem to think they did. They also make basically no sense insofar as simulating character development is concerned.

Dunno why twc thinks I should have more messages before I can edit.

Anti traits don't work in M2TW.

It's an anti spam measure - a variety of bots can make 'clean' posts to avoid the filter and then edit the post into pure spam. 25 posts or 2 weeks membership (whichever comes first) is the cut off I think.

But, as far as my testing went, the fix I posted works, regardless of wider problems with the function.

    Thanks for your input VineFynn

You should contact Jurand of Cracow who's working on the traits. That will probably interest him

I just fired this mod up and the first bug I encountered was a graphical one.
My entire screen was immersed in geometrical clusters in particular areas of siege maps within cities. If I would move from one side of the city to another with my camera, I would effectively go through these kinds of anomalies. They are static. Maybe it's tied to objects?
My medieval2 exe was set to compatibility mode and run as admin, but the kingdoms copy was not, so I changed that. One of Gigantus' posts prompted me to check.
    I'll see how it goes.
I'm pretty excited to be playing SS again.

I had a recent update\addition on the issue, in case the original approach doesn't help:

I know this bug. It's a bug with levy or peasants archers (Sandy archers). It seems to come when this unit fight with swordsmen.
I hope someone competent can fix that. I think it's an animation problem.

    Seems you are right, kostic.
At least Miles Pedites fighting levy archers causes giant geometrical voids of black, white, or colour in the area they fight.
We have to move away from the area and observe from a distance.
I'm hoping this isn't as bad as I think it could be.

I tested a fight swordsmen/levy-archers on DLV 6.2 (Sandy archers units come from)... The first bug come (the archer fidgets frantically before coming to a stop), but no giant geometrical voids of black, white, or colour in the area they fight.

We don't use the same animations. That could be the reason

Always a chance that the model wasn't properly assigned to it's skeleton. Check the model's animation in the modeldb - then check if that animation is used by another unit. Check if that other unit has the same problem. If not - then it's the assignment.

Example animation set for archers, 'None' denotes foot soldier (no mount):

    4 None
    11 MTW2_Bowman
    15 MTW2_Non_Shield 1
    19 MTW2_Bowman_Primary 1
    18 MTW2_Sword_Primary

Thanks for confirming this Gig. That's also what I'm suspecting after the tests made by kostic.

Note: the animation used is the animation of the 'soldier' model in the EDU - not from the individual models in the armour_ug_models line. While they are usually the same there is obviously the odd exception to this.

I know. When I implemented some new animations the first time, it took me a while to fiind out about that "issue"

Am I the only one with this problem?
I don't think I can play this if I'm completely blinded by these voids when swords and archers fight.
Perhaps it has something to do with not disabling UAC when installing or perhaps applying the SS 6.4 fixes prior to installing SSHIP. That's all I can think of.

Try a temporary fix (if it is animation related):

Locate a similar unit in the EDU (export_descr_units.txt) and note down the soldier entry
Locate the 'messed up' unit in the EDU and replace the soldier entry.

Try this fix if it is the model:

Copy the armour_ug_models line of the similar unit into the 'messed up' unit's line. the messed up unit will now look like the similar unit but have the messed up units stats - eg the change is cosmetic.

Edit: if the similar model's ownership entries do not cover the faction(s) of the messed up unit then you will end up with a 'silver surfer' - by hey, better then game breaking distortions I guess?

I did a test with another model of archers (that of the archers of Bree in Third Age) and the 2 bugs occur. We can conclude that the bug does not come from Sandy's models.
