    Additionally, I really don't understand the system. The pop-up says that I will get this 2000 charge for unescorted units moving "outside my borders", but in both of my games so far, my units are often moving inside my borders when I get this pop-up. For example, in my current game, I have an unescorted unit moving from Bari to Regium, and I get the 2000 riyals charge pop-up. I don't understand. Isn't that unit moving inside my borders?

    So I am sorry to trouble you, but I am confused on both points above.

    mind that for the armies WITH a general, there's another mechanism of the supply costs in the foreign territories.

    Strange bug with this Duke of Aleppo general, who has disappeared from the unit cards, as you can see from the image...
    I can bring him out by selecting him in the list of generals, but in this case he'll come out without his flag and won't be able to merge with another army.



    Does anyone know what could cause this?

    This isn't really a bug but whenever I launch the bat file and the sship loading screen comes, it takes a unusually long time before the cursor turns into the sship hourglass, and when i left click befor it has turned, a pop up message comes that it the program doesn't respond. So then I exit

    However, the second time, immediately after exiting the first time it always goes fast and well.
    If there's no fix, I don't bother. it's not really a big issue i just have to always launch 2 times haha just takes 2 minutes longer so yeah not a big deal

    Oh and another thing. In my pisa campaign, my consiglieri visconti fathered a new child with his wife of 48 years old(!)
    is this normal? i've never had this before..

    For the woman who has a child at 48, if it's exceptional, why not?
    As for launching the game, it always takes a long time to get to the menu. If you quit and relaunch the game, SSHIP loads much faster. From my point of view, this is normal.
    - As far as I'm concerned, it's enough to wait for the first launch: about 1 minute for the hourglass to appear + about ten seconds to get to the menu.
    - If I quit and relaunch SSHIP, then the loading time is much shorter: 5 seconds to see the hourglass + 3 seconds to reach the menu.

    There is a small bug regarding the inheritance of surnames in terms of new births. If you marry a princess from your kingdom to a foreign general from another faction, their children do not inherit their father's surname, they get a completely different surname. But on the other hand, if you marry one of your princesses to a general from your faction, this princess will take the last name of her husband and both will have a child with the same last name. The problem comes when you marry foreign generals or family members.


    Example: I married my Castilian princess Elvira to the Aragonese General "Lope de Luna", when they had a son he was called "Salvador de Calahorra", he should have the surname "de Luna".


    Is this a bug? How can it be solved? I think it takes away a lot of immersion and historicity from the game, due to having great surnames within your house such as the Byzantine Konmeno, the English Plantagenet... It would be nice to be able to inherit those surnames as is logical.


    @Macaras/ @Gigantus or Jurand could you help us with this problem?

    I don't know if this is a bug, but something absolutely infuriating is happening in my aragon campaign.

    I'm only at turn 9, and this almoravid assassin has already killed 3(!) of my family members now. he's literally murdering my entire dynasty. this assassin only has 4 subterfuge but managed to kill 3 of my guys even some with traits like 'overly suspicious' in LESS than 10 turns. this is insane, i've never had this happen to me before.

Installed it (seemingly) correctly, identically to installing the previous version, followed all the instructions, but when I launch, both from the folder and from a desktop shortcut, I launch vanilla Medieval 2. I'm really confused as it's installed in exactly the same way and right next to the old version (see picture), which launches and runs fine, so I'm just so at a loss.

    Check your "custom launch" properties. Right click game in your steam library, choose properties, then "set launch properties" and check if there is anything written there. If there is, just delete it. Also I would rename folder to SSHIP_098 and change the name of the others. I am not very knoledgable though

    The path of the mod (defined in the config file) must match the name of the folder.
    So if you rename the folder, you have to update the config file.

    I'd like to take advantage of @Belovèse's return to report this strange bug below. In fact, this general can leave Aleppo, but without his banner... and he can't attack or even merge with another army.
    I'd like to make it disappear. Do you know how to do this and which line I should write with the console?

ID:	370101Hi all, I'm getting a recurring crash on turn end 174-175, playing as France, whenever Poland's turn to act is up. I get the following error message (see screenshot) and upon pressing 'OK' Medieval 2 exits. I've tried loading and reloading different saves but it happens each and every time I reach this point. I really do not want to ditch this campaign, I've been streaming it and am just having a blast with it, is there any way to salvage this? The error message is quite detailed, though I can't decipher it so hopefully it's plenty to go on. The error message also appears after a solid few seconds of it being Poland's turn, which leads to me to believe the issue may be Byzantium, who is next in the queue, and that I am allied to. Any help at all would truly be hugely appreciated, ta.

    If you have the latest version of the game, it's best to post a save of your campaign just before the crash. Then I can check on my PC if I get the same error and try to correct it.

    Could be an error linked to an historical event firing at that moment, I’lltry to remember to look for that when on my computer

    I've kept crashing on turn 230 during the AI turns whilst playing as the Abbasids. I had the same problem on a previous campaign with the same faction, albeit far deeper into the campaign. During this campaign the game always seems to crash on Lithuania's turn, and wiping the faction from the game also causes the game to immediately crash. I thought I should post the log here and was wondering if anyone else has experienced similar issues? Thanks
