Seems like Pisa and Venice don't have the ability to recruit some units they have in initial armies too (sergeant spearmen). I'll try to play with this one.

I believe I won't be able to continue my Portugal campaign from original 0.98 with your mini-mod, will I? You gave some unique crusader units to them while took away some basic units from their starter armies. Or maybe i'm fine to load my 0.98 sship save + your mini-mod and I just won't have those crusaders but still will be able to continue?
I am afraid it is not save compatible, try with the alone folder of SSHIM in your sship folder( overwrite with the folder in the link mega from first page of sshim post), or if you want a new game, you will have to delete your original SSHIP and copy and paste the SSHIP with SSHIM in your mod folder ( posted in the last post of sshim forum)

Hi, I'm playing an England campaign( with j.a luna submod) and I conquered all of Scotland, so normally i should be able to recruit another merchant right? because it is said that in sship your get another available merchant after you conquer an enemy faction capital. But I can't recruit another merchant, I have only one now. Is this a bug or do you have to have a market maybe in that capital?

Thanks for the help in advance

edit: it's alright, i got an extra recruitable merchant when i built a grain exchange in dunn eideann

Hi Jurand its been a while . i have a question and a couple of Recommandations .
the first is explain the rise of Mamluks ?? what will happen after the notification appears ?? despite getting Mamluks units will i get some random generals who they had trait of Royal_Blood_Mamluk ???
the recommandations is i hope that the mini mods i published a long time about event characters getting spawned Nobles houses ..... would be helpful in further Updates .
i suggest to take a look again for Byzantium especially in Familly Tree . the Fourth Crusade script i worked on you can use it to make it stronger to weaken Byzantium more and to test if the player will be able to revive the empire after Big success. second thing is it possible to recruit a general but once he's spawned he get the ancillary of a Noble house if he got the last name of one of available noble houses

    Hi Sultan,
I haven't touched the "Mamluk" mechanism in my modding yet, it works as it did before. Or perhaps it doesn't work, I don't know.
I don't think there's the Fourth Crusade script in the SSHIP. It's in the Broken Crescent mod, afair.
Noble house ancillaries were in the other mods (perhaps Deus Lo Vult?), but not in the SSHIP.

    Almoravid has been... mixed.

The War with Iberia were executed well enough, actually other than killing Portugal and ward off one time Aragon attack, the Iberian were quiet. Allow me to buld peacefully.

But then i decide i should do what historical Moors do and kick out the Christians out of Tunis(this time Pisa). I admit i have to cheat copiously for this one because apparently the war is worth 3 of Pisan full stacks along with most of their Family Members. I only bring one full stacks and even have to deal with Mahdiya rebellion because my Invading general prematurely died(Fatimid, which i aslo cheat because i don't bring enough manpower for siege battle)

I kinda hate that i have skill issue. I should have recruit more army if shipping the army from Morroco/Andalus to Tunis took 3 years.

Screw it. I restart, too much cheating before.

It is going well, don't even have to cheat that much. But any misgiving on my cheat were dashed.

BECAUSE THEY BRIBED MY SETTLEMENT! WITH WHAT MONEY!? THEY DON'T HAVE MONEY!

Bribing mechanics hasn't been changed in the SSHIP, afaik.
Maybe your general there was prone to bribing?

Yeah. He have dubious. Take him to get the chivalric trait before he stops being bribable along with the castle.

But honestly i would just disable bribe entirely. It either doesn't work or cost way too many money. And considering how hostile the ai and how cash strapped player was well... let's just say you have better luck buying settlement than bribing them. :v

No, this mechanics makes a number of traits meaningful. You start to care what your generals are up to only if it's meaningful - and here you've just experienced it. Great.

It's not really meaningful if the player effectively couldn't use it. It's just an added slog.

Like how plausible for Aragon with just it's starting settlements to have 80k money to bribe one settlement while still having 2 armies? Never.

But it's not historical to buy settlements unless for really huge sum of money.. As it is now it makes it possible only in very rare situations..

I agree. Ultimately i start the comversation because i don't endorse bribing settlement happening, the fact the perpetrator is Aragon who shouldn't have enough income to bribe my settlement add salt in the wound.

But oh well i have other problem. I move temporarily to new, more newer laptop. Unfortunately while i could get it to run, even done battle, it don't last long. After battle or reload or several turns, it would crash. It said either Fatal Graphics Error or Unexpected Error

On my new laptop with Win11, the mod also crashes very often...

Well, we're playing Med2 mods for story-playing. I'd think there're many traitors to their overlords in the Medieval Era, so bribing with little money also is immersion-acceptable for me.

Currently it's frequency prevent me from saving my progress. Since i had no issue on actually playing, i reinstall the game and will try playing vanilla and disable autosave. Just to check if i could dial down frequency so i could actually play the game. Hope it won't broke my laptop

Edit : Reinstall and play the Vanilla. It works! No crash. Now for the mod...

I have been reading faction and it make me happy that my unit list is actually listed in the faction thread

Guess i'll try write some more.

Edit : I don't think i have much to say on heavy cavalry though, would probably in similar flavor of they are the best unit you could possibly possessed, use them well and you win the campaign

Anyone just look at large army stack arrayed against you and decide "nope"

I could and have fight such battles especially during Crusade but uh... let's just say fighting constant heroic victory over and over gets old.

So sometimes i just auto win those battles

The horror... HRE sent no less than 4 army, they are neutral but the intention were obvious. This. After i destroy 4 army. 1 manually, 3 with auto_win.

But this time, i think i take up the challange.

The threat was exaggarated, they only sent 2 :v

Edit : It did happen, once my King died. 2 attack Milan, 1 Verona(Rebel former Venetian) and 1 in Venice

Edit : Righto new house rules, battle against captain are auto win unless enemy General within vicinity. I also now have income to be in "perpetual war" so ai slogging match are now possible even with the burden of crown

Restart one battle because i couldn't accept their general don't die. Bull, i don't accept lose if i don't kill their general barring the most hopeless of fight

Edit : One restart and suddenly decisive victory, i can't say i'm happy as better player would take the loss rather than reload.

Double edit : Anothrr HRE invasion and somwhow i cannot win the fight despite similiar strength. I hate lost more than being fair and once again, i savescum

Fed up with HRE invasion, i decide to restart and go into other direction. Fighting Byzantine.

It went as well you're expected and if this ironman? I would lose Bari and in debt. :v So far Roman have attempt 3 invasion(the last one i savescummed because my best general and units went crusade)

One thing i noticed that... this game still heavily reward aggresive action despite the penalties.

That's because if you stay "passive" the ai would sent wave upon wave of mens at you and they could replenish using the resources they have at home. But the quirky thing is because ai don't have to worry about public order unlike the player, it make their garrison empty as they sent it all to attack.

This means if you defeat their army they have temporary gap where they are vunerable, not enough for peace but enough to strike their settlement. And the more you take their settlement the less likely they are able to recover.

Only when the ai can longer sent wave upon wave of doomstacks at you is when ai will consider ceasefire, which of course is when it is the best time to conquer them.
