    have you tried to do the window 7 compatibility thing and run as administrator?
    That happened to me at first but I solved it with what I just told you

    Yes, I also got a random CTD for no reason once, but now it keeps working silky smooth

    I guess the problem is, that I used the new SS installer which includes the Meloo Fix? Any idea how I can get the the old two part installer? Or is there any way to get this running with the Meloo fix?

    got a ctd when i opened it the first time, thought maybe the desktop shortcut was fugged, went into folder opened again and now everything is working

    i guess you get a guaranteed first ctd then it's all fine

    well idk then, i downloaded today from that same link and it worked for me

    i'd try download the 0.97 rar again, i had problems a few times in the past where the archive was just corrupted for some reason, redownload solved it

    the only other thing maybe you could try to uncheck "read-only" on your medieval 2 folder properties, solved a similar issue on another game, maybe some files arent getting copied or who knows

    Just to remove the elephant from the room I'll test my SS repack with this new version - I'll be using a fresh install of SS and SSHIP.

    Procedure I shall be using:

    1. Install a clean version of my SS6.4 repack plus the 'novgogord' fix (just in case)
    2.
    Run the SS6.4 setup and choose Early Era campaign with Savage AI, RR/RC enabled (option doesn't exit, see install pic) and no permanent arrows because of performance hit. This will also run SS automatically, exit after mod has loaded.
    3. Unzip SSHIP download
    4. Move unzipped 'data' folder into mods\SS6.3 directory

    Note: Win7 compatibility and admin use is set. Steam is installed outside the program files directory (D:\Steam). See the alternative of moving Steam's library.

    Edit: everything went smooth and I had no problem starting a game as the Byzantines. The log threw up a good number of script errors which are related to setting counters that do not exist (have not been declared) - maybe they are event counters and set_event_counter should have been used?:

    It's up to you. At VH campaign you have difficult mechanisms to deal with, it's described in-game with pop-out windows. Money will be very scarce in VH if you recruit many units.

    Just ran squid's script checker and it threw up a number of bloopers:

    I tried that and it worked, but in the first siege battle I played i got a super annoying texture glitch (that covered half the screen; it appeared to be triggered by a death animation bug), though I'm not sure if reinstalling over clean SS6.4 would fix it.

    Dont worry , it is a very old and known bug due to the archer bow string animation when dying. Kostic KCC models will fix this problem in the next patch.
