    Default Celts Using Greek Faces

First of all, don't misinterpret what I'm about to say, there is no racism or anything of the sort involved, is just that some celt units, officers and generals having greek faces with this mod, even with barbarian beards and armor they still seem very out of place in my opinion, and since it will be too much to ask the team to revert it to how things are in vanilla, I would at least like to ask them what drove them to make this change and why only gallic celts and not britons nor germans.

I still love this mod and playing as either celtic or greek factions either way.

The problem is that the celtic skin type is not made for certain kinds of clothes, which results in a lot of clipping and/or loss of body parts if one is using such clothes on them.

Edit: To be more precise, the celtic skins are made so that they are either shirtless or with shirts that cover their whole arms, whereas with the greek skins can have bare arms without having chests that clip through the clothes/armour of the unit.

This is correct. The reasons why some of the celtic units use Greek skins is so that we could make them fit with some of the new armours, and it is not something we're planning on changing.

can new models not be made?

That would be a lot of wasted time and effort for no gain? There is hardly any noticeable difference between them anyway once you give greek skin barbarian hair and beards. If new skins were made there are plenty of other priorities like Indian skins and editing African skins to wear helmets and armour without clipping.

Sure, the main tasks for now are campaign/unit adjustments, and faction overhaul for factions that are not overhauled yet.

While the fact that greek skin models are being used is fine by me, one thing that does kind of bother me is that almost everytime a celtic unit uses a greek skin, it uses one with legs and feet fully included, which makes them clip terribly with the trousers. I think this is a little silly considering there is an identical greek skin, only difference benig the legs aren't included so you don't get any of the clipping. Perhaps that could be something to look at at least?

Yes I think this is a valid point. After 0.9 the main focus for version 1.0 release is polishing and balancing only, so things like this can be fixed.

Well if it's of any interest to the team I've already edited all celt armour variants (which for some reason had skin variants in them on top of the skin variants in the actual unit) and unit variants to fix this particular issue. I could just send it someones way if they want to include it in 0.9 or something.

You can message them to me, or Meneros but he is busy with other things atm. I'm sure the rest of the team would be grateful however. Did you swap the full skin for a version with just arms? Or the version with head_hands only? (i think the armours show the forearms sometimes)

Well basically I just applied the greek skin with full arms but no legs to any unit variant where it was required. Anything with bare arms basically. Now there's no clipping to the feet or faces anymore (due to the double skin variants). But yeah I'll send them your way in just a second.

Glad to see that this thread at least helped to make the mod a little bit better, thank you for your hard work Maximus183, now the team will have less polishing to do in 0.95

In relation to the issue I presented originally, I understand that the team is not gonna change the celts using greek skins and I respect that; but if by any chance CA released an update that included a barbarian skin with bare arms that has no chest to do clipping with the armor like greek skins (they released a small clothing update for the germans so anything is possible) then would the team then consider substituting the greek skins for those?
