Battle Crashes

I am having the battle crash when it involves an enemy reinforcement although it doesn't crash right away it crashes when you strart engaging in battle. Any Help? I've done the daylight savings thing

I have the same problem, but I am confused by the solution. It seems I need to install this submod, Really Bad AI, to fix this reinforcement bug. I tried to do that, but an error message pops up saying "not enough campaigns or core files missing!" whenever I try to run the RBAI setup. What does that mean and how do I install this submod? Please help.

What mod or a submod are you using, and what version? Also, what kind of issue do you have in your battles, some info would be nice.

I have the same problem as Rhino2003 above: game crashes when the enemy have reinforcements on the field. I have read that this and the mumakil training bug are typical problems for Third Age. I solved the latter and am trying to fix the former. I have vanilla Third Age 3.2 . I'm trying to install the Really Bad AI submod. Every time I try to run the setup for it to install it, an error message pops up saying "not enough campaigns or core files missing!" Oh, and I have windows 7 btw but have done everything recommended before installing TATW (un-hide hidden folders, run everything as administrator, disable daylights savings time, etc.). So what's the problem with RBAI?

I don't know why RBAI gives you that error message cause I haven't tried to install it myself, I've only made changes necessary for the reinforcement fix as instructed by Germanicu5. If you want to fix this issue only for TATW , then I recommend to try my fix file.

Yeah, I just want to fix the reinforcement bug for TATW only.

Where is your fix file and what do I do with it, i.e. where do I place it in the Third Age folder?

Ok, so you want me to replace the TATW campaign_script file with your new one. But your file is .rar while the original is a text file. How do I convert .rar files to text files?

Also, this doesn't sound save-game compatible.

Please tell me it is because I have made so much progress in my Rohan campaign. Cats

Download WinRar or WinZip free trial version, extract my file with one of these two programs, make a backup of your original campaign_script .txt file, and replace it with mine.

Delete map.rwm file, and yes, you will need to start a new campaign ( you could test your current campaign and see will it work, the changes affect only battles, but I am not sure).

Well, I started the battle again and it didn't crash... immediately. After I shot some snaga down with my horse-archers it crashed. So the fix is not save-game compatible it seems.

Or it didn't work. I've started a new game as the Dwarves and have yet to engage an enemy force that has reinforcements. I'll let you know if it works, or doesn't. Cheers! Cats

It works. I had a Dwarven army attack a Gundabad force outside Gundabad and the garrison came as reinforcements. No crash. And all the orcs were slaughtered. And Gundabad has been taken by the Dwarves without spawning the garrison script. I'm glad my future campaigns won't have this problem.
