A couple small questions

First off: giant trees, man. World obscuring giant trees. Its like I'm fighting in a whole forest of Yggdrasils up in cisalpine gaul. Does anyone know where I can download the modified map files to get rid of them? I've found this thread over on the .org but the downloads are no longer available from the sites linked in the OP.

Second question: Polybian reforms. I'm about 10 years away from them, and I'm wondering what happens with my existing faction barracks. I remember reading somewhere that for one of the celtic reforms the script actually places a new faction barracks of the same level as your existing ones in your settlements and you just destroy the old one or something. Is something like that true of Polybian reforms? Or do you have to upgrade existing barracks/build new ones from scratch?

I have no maxed out barracks yet, so if its either upgrading/building new ones then I'd just continue to refrain from upgrading them. I've been doing fine without the extraordinarii units so far, so it'd really just end up a waste of 3 years to upgrade them. But if I don't have to start from scratch/upgrade them I'd go ahead and start up a couple of them.

Polybian reforms: Upgrade your barracks to get the Polybian units. If your barracks is already at the highest tier, you will be able to build the top tier again to get the new units.

Marian reforms: Your existing barracks gets damaged 100%, and a new Marian barracks of equal tier is built for you automatically by the script, for free. Destroy the damaged barracks.

I've played ~5 more years since posting the thread, so at this rate I'll definitely just hold out and wait to upgrade the barracks in 5 more years after reforms trigger. Glad to know that transitioning to Marian unit production will be quick right after I manage to trigger them as well. And yeah, mercenary Samnite heavies have been serving me well in the odd siege assault here and there when I decide to pick them up.

I remember I met the forests first time in Hyrcania.
In the start I did not like them, but later I realized that they add immersion. You really feel like battling in a dark forest with savages!
I have no idea however how to get rif og them.

Go to EB submod and install RS2 environments. That'll fix your tree issues and make the map look much prettier.
