CTD Crash Issue With EB and Switch to RS2
So my EB campaign kept crashing once in every 5 turns or so and at some point it became unbearable. I switched to RS2, but something just didn't feel right. Battles took longer in RS2, granted, but the AI took over free cities too quickly and just constantly sent stack after stack to me. I felt little cheated that AI can send full stack after stack at my single stack. Fighting one or two decisive battle usually gives you a control over a region in EB, but not in RS2. AI constantly sends stack after stack. At some point it became a chore. Anyhow, the point is, I am not liking RS2 as much as I did EB. I would love to play EB if it weren't for the CTD crash. Anyone know how to fix it? I play on Steam so the game has to be in Program files x86. Would saving in other files and not Autosave help reduce CTD?

Not definitive, but waiting ten seconds at the battle statistics screen has reduced crashing after battles significantly for me. And I agree with you completely on RS2 0-turn, but giving it a try on 1-turn campaigns, and faster battles minimod, could alter your experience.

RS2 0 turn without faster battle minimod was an absolute disaster. Killing a single levy unit with my full stack took me 15 minutes on that. I quickly switched to RS2 1 turn campaign with faster battle minimod. Even on 1 turn mod though, AI is very aggressive towards you on normal campaign difficulty. Playing as Rome, I had give up my region in Spain because Gaelleci would send stack after stack to my settlement. I can barely afford 4 full stacks of army after solving the crisis in Italy with Hannibal. Yet, Gaellaci with their 4 provinces can somehow afford 7 or 8 full stacks. I felt cheated.
