A Frenchman has been arrested in Marseilles over a shooting at the Jewish Museum in Brussels that left four people dead, reports say.

Mehdi Nemmouche, 29, is being held on suspicion of murder and attempted murder in connection with a terrorist enterprise, sources told AFP.

He was reportedly carrying a Kalashnikov rifle and a handgun similar to the ones used in the May 24 attack.

Security was tightened at Jewish sites across Belgium following the killings.

not necessarily, anyone from a French overseas territory is French, they send (or sent) representatives to the Parliament of France as overseas departments and hold French citizenship, have for centuries, so he could be the descendant of parents who moved to France before decolonisation and be legally as French as someone whose family came in with Rollo. Or less likely be from one of said Departments or Territories that are still held.

We have a confession now.

Not sure what this has to do with "multiculturalsm" The only Jews involved are victims . Other minority communities are presumably not involved. The last point is true, these are the very people NATO wanted to back in Syria and they had similar groups were backed in Libya. It is a funny old world.

In 2013 7 people were killed in terrorist attacks, one British soldier was slain by Islamists in London . A Ukranian Nazi murdered a Muslim in Birmingham , 2 right wing extremists were killed in Athens and 3 members of the Kurdish Workers Party were killed in Paris. Statistically you have more chance of being run over by Lord Lucan riding Shergar than you would be affected by political violence.

What do you mean by "unsurprisingly, he's French"? Are you implying that the French are terrorists? If so, I demand you retract that statement since it couldn't be further from the truth.


Anyways, i'm going to wait for a bit more detail before I make a judgement. What are his motives? How did he accomplish this feat? Were there any accomplices? Quite a few questions that have yet to be answered.
