Default So Something Slightly Weird Happened While I was Playing Today

So today I was playing as the Khwarezmian Empire and I decided I had to invade the Seljuk Sultanate after I had to choose between them and the Fatimid Caliphate and the Seljuks were a victory requirement and also owned most of the land to the south of me since I was slow with grabbing rebel territory (this is early campaign with Meneth sub mod compiltation by the way). So my plan was to attack them from the south and also sail across the Caspian Sea and invade them take the fight to them in Anatolia and Armenia. I took one of their settlements (Baku) and after recuperating from the siege I moved onto the next settlement. Anyways I assaulted the settlement right away since I brought a trebuchet and the garrison only consisted of a general and a a garrison of only about 6 lower end units and a small supporting army outside the settlement. Stupidly I forgot to check what the supporting army consisted of since I figured it was just units but then on the battlefield I was assaulted by EIGHT general units. And two javelinmen. I took heavy losses but I did manage to win in the end but my cavalry was pretty beaten up. Anyways has anyone else had an event like this where the ai just stacked generals into one army. And sorry if I rambled a bit.

I've played about 400 turns in total of SS (not very many I know) and I've only ever been up against 3 at most at a time. Strange for sure.

I've been up against 5 at one time. Sharpened stakes work wonders for that... I was lucky enough to have archers that could use the stakes though (and it was a siege...).

On very rare occasions, Ive seen an AI faction with an army with 5-9 generals in it and not much else.
Couldnt tell you the reason it happens, but it is rare.
Honest and truly, I AM Robin Hood!
