Default Help with Resurrecting a Faction

i Noticed there is a way to free all the slaves and let a faction return under their own rule once you take back there homecity, the thing i dont like is that it forces you into a military alliance with them, is there a way to make it so you just get the bonuses of freeing them without HAVING to be allies? some people i may just want to like me but dont want to get mixed up in there wars.

Agreed. Ideally CA would have given us the option of choosing of what to do with a liberated faction: a) subjugate b) alliance c) neither, just let them go their own ways.

or just let it go through, i mean after you liberate them they are so in love with you they would instantly accept a alliance

Not everyone plays with the sole purpose of expanding and "winning", or at least not all the time. I just play for the heck of it really.

There are bits and pieces of Europe that I think would look nice in my empire and others that should rather stay on the outside.

When they become allies they end up dragging you into wars and ruining your reputation. I always break the alliance asap.

I cannot confirm that. If someone attacks a client state of yours you WILL definitely be asked to come to its defense. And if you refuse, your reliability rating is negatively affected.

When playing the Iceni, I find myself using the liberate option quite a lot when picking apart large empires. It allows me to go on warring/raiding expeditions with a few favored armies and destroy high and mighty enemies without the trouble of having to build new armies and hold culturally hostile ground. The worst thing is when my newly liberated buddies declare war on each other... client states would not solve this, but satrapies would.

Of course they wouldnīt like that...
Wouldnīt be logical otherwise, but depending on the situation you get to choose to withold your declaration of war, without loosing your client/satrapy!
In case of a Military Ally, it would have damaged your reputation badly, in addition to loosing your ally!
But client states/satrapies are dependent on you to survive any bigger foe, or protecting their trade or certain interests of theirs, which gets expressed in diplomatic requests, like declaration of war on rivals of theirs!
In the case of Military Allies itīs not that different, but they arenīt dependent on you, so they can always cut their bonds with you!
In case of satrapies in comparison to client states, they act as buffer against other factions without the liability of unwanted declarations of war on their own, but sometimes, the initiative some client states are willing to show, can be used by their overlord, like going to war with another faction, without being branded as unreliable!

i normally use it USSR way, with that i mean creating a wall of buffer states between me and my enemies, then when their armies are weakened, i strike. i also liberate them strategically, for example, in some cases i can liberate a faction in the middle of my enemy's empire, i do it, they cause some havok within my enemy's empire, then i attack to finish them off

The only reason I could think of would be if you just didn't want to screw around with culture conversion, or if you are fighting a numerically superior foe and need an ally to help out. Liberated factions receive a pretty large army that can help you ward off attacks. I agree, though, that it would be much better if they became client states/satrapies instead of just allies.
