Default Millions wasted investigating Benghazi, but not a cent for real scandals?

Why are Republican Congressmen spending millions of our tax dollars investigating Benghazi and the IRS scandal, when that time, money and effort could be used to investigating real scandals. Real scandals like the Iraq War and the "you didn't build that scandal." Where is are the twelve congressional committees investigating the "you didn't build that" scandal?

I am sorely disappointed in our Congressmen. Do you believe we should reallocate those funds to investigate real scandals, like the two mentioned above?

Wasnt the "you didnt build it" "scandal" just some piece of a sentence quote mined from Obama and then used at a handful of republican rallies?

Yea no reason to investigate the IRS specifically targeting organizations based on political affiliation. I mean, why would that be considered a major problem in a Republic?

That chart really does say it all.

Even though we can all obviously put the blame of who initiated the Iraq War on Bush and Cheney, I'm not childish enough to blame them for every terrorist attack on a US embassy. Of that they are blameless, and so is Obama. He rightfully heightened security AT ALL US embassies immediately after the Benghazi consulate was assaulted. Of course, he'll receive no credit for that.

I certainly don't like Obama, and find it strange that I'm defending him, but puerile and asinine political hack jobs like this have to be slapped down and called out for what they are. I would do the same in defense of a conservative politician, like when John McCain was venomously slandered in the 2000 Presidential Campaign for supposedly having a black child out of wedlock (in reality an Asian kid that he'd adopted and raised like a good parent).

There are several differences between Benghazi and the other attacks. Ranging from the fact that the Benghazi attack was allowed to play out as it did due to gross incompetence and a lack of decision making, to the fact that the President and Secretary of State lied about the attack for weeks after it happened.

In his weekly radio address before September 11, 2012, Obama told us that he had already heightened security, but we now know that was clearly not true.

The facts of who and what failed before and who covered up after have not been answered:
    1. The ambassador had asked State for more security in light of recent attacks
    2. Security for Benghazi had actually been reduced by State despite the recent attacks on others and our consulate
    3. A narrative was orchestrated and the admin told us that it was the CIA who provided the talking points
    4. Witnesses have had their retirements threatened
    5. Lists of survivors have been withheld from investigators
    6. Subpenaed evidence has been withheld or redacted as evidenced by what the courts have produced
    7. Those who cooperated with investigations have been demoted
    8. The excuse was given that there wasn't time to send help, but they didn't know how long they had to send help when it was ongoing
    9. Our military commanders in the area were never asked if they could get there "on time", but at least some were told to stand down
    10. The administration and State Department have been the ones who have had to alter their stories several times a week, not the investigators. Two years later, we are still finding new evidence of a cover up.
    11. The attack happened two months before a national election and the narrative directly related to the reelection of the Bama. He was running on Al Qaeda "being on their heals" and all but beaten.
    12. State commissioned an investigation and declared all settled and it turns out the "independent" investigation never even interviewed Hillary or her number two. Additionally, the "independent" investigators were reporting to Hillary what they discovering during the investigation.
    13. For every reason I was ever told that Nixon was investigated and had to resign or Reagan was investigated for years over Iran-Contra, the investigation into what happened before and after Benghazi matters. Cover ups used to be reported to be the worst thing there is for a Republic before journalism died.
    14. The investigations could have ended long ago, but the administration has stonewalled it and been uncooperative while covering something up the whole time

Neville perhaps if they didn't try to cover up their incompetence then your graph might mean something, the attack was not the issue.

I hear that word again. Explain to us how Obama tried to cover this up. I hear it constantly by the GOP but its never explained how.

It's just funny how there is a common theme that if a GOP President such as Bush can do something, Democratic Obama should be impeached for. Obama will always be remembered as the President that was blamed for everything.

I once had someone tell me that Obama had to go because of the Supreme Court's decision to strike down Pennsylvania's gay marriage ban, as if he had anything to do with it (and as if the majority of Supreme Court judges weren't Conservative).

This Benghazi incident distracts from the real and pressing issues of this country, like guns. And Common Core. And NASCAR funding. And Michele Obama's dress choices. And prayer in schools. And more guns. But none of that Afghani war or blundering economy, that is for pussies.

The Benghazi debacle is worthy of investigation, the way they lied about it being all about a video to ensure that they were not criticised for handling terrorism, and all this bs about a 'spontaneous demonstration'. You had the US Ambassador and 3 others killed, and then the American people and the world were fed a whole load of bs to hide the fact that it was the Al Quada franchise that did it, for political purposes. As the video cover story is out there - the White House doesn't need to go after anyone or seek retribution or justice for their deaths. When was the last time a US Embassy was overrun and the Ambassador killed? They knew who did it and why - and lied to the American people about that. I also want to know who made the decision not to send anyone to help the people being attacked and why. Maybe they would not have gotten there in time - but they could have *tried*, they could at least have done that much to save the US Ambassador.

The histrionic 'What difference does it make!' from Hilary Clinton is laughable - it makes a difference because motive is the most important factor in determining are we still at risk, who is attacking us.

Are people STILL making a big deal out of this? Seriously people, let's try to think about this from an objective point of view. Libya just got out from a massive civil war in which they still haven't recovered from, and the Americans decided to build an embassy there. Logically speaking, if you set up an Embassy(An American one none the less) in a war torn country that's plagued with corruption, violence and political turmoil, the chances of that said Embassy being attacked by extremists/Africans/Middle Eastern people are incredibly high. America doesn't exactly have a good relation with the Middle East and Africa, so this attack on the Benghazi embassy/consulate isn't surprising and was bound to happen eventually.

It's true value to the Republicans is to try and scupper a presidential run by Hillary Clinton, and apparently to see if it can bring the GOP base to fork out more contributions.

The IRS tried to overcharge my Mother because she identifies as Republican. The IRS scandal is very "real."

As for Benghazi, if you're fine with Government incompetence and U.S. diplomats being killed then I guess you could say it's not a "real" scandal.
