Default I lied about not having Steam version

This is a embarrassing question but what does it mean that I chose "no" to not having the Steam version of Kingdoms after installing 6.4? I have M2TW and Kingdoms on Steam but for the ease of modding, I use the hard copy of the Gold Edition that I have. When it asked if I had the Steam version of the game I was worried that it would somehow complicate things. Also, does running the game through Steam somehow give better performance than the disk based version? I know these are really stupid questions, but I'm paranoid. Thanks for any input.

If you have both versions it doesnt matter. I would assume steam version would run slightly slower if you have an an old computer just because steam is also running.

Maybe I should clarify myself. I am not worried about any boogeyman Stem issues. However I was worried that choosing the yest option to whether or not I had a Steam version of Kingdoms meant the mod would try to run the game through Steam. I was just wondering what exactly choosing "yes" entails in terms of any gameplay and performance differences if any. Thanks for any clarification.

I thought I already answered but ill try again: When you have a steam installed version of M2TW it is in a different file directory then a CD copy of M2TW. So when it asks you if you have it or not this is only so that SS can find your game to install to the correct location. As far as game play performance see my post above.
