Transfer unit from a faction to another WITHOUT garrison availability
Hi there.
I'm new on the forum and for modding. I would like to have your help on a specific subjet.
i was fed up being disappointed by mods adding units in the workshop that never fited my willings so I decided to create my own.
To start easily, my mod aim was just to transfer existing units from a faction to another.
I was dissappointed with the lack of Units for Parthia, wich is a faction that fascinates me.
I decided to move the following units to its roster :
- Nobles spearmans (from Armenia)
- Axemen (from Armenia).
- Persians cavalry (from Atropatene)
- Indian armoured elephants (from Seleucids)
- Syrian Archers (from Semeucids)
For this I edited the following tables :
- units_to_groupings_military_permissions --> gave all these units to Parthia
- units_custom_battle_permissions --> to be able to use the units in custom battles
- buildings_units_allowed --> to be able to recruit Archers from tier 4 noble levy and elephants from exotic stables tier 3. I DIDN'T do anything for the spearmen, axemen and cavalry since they were already recruitable from "parthian like buildings".
Everything worked perfectly and I've even been able to make the elephants become a general unit using commander_military_unit_permissions.
THE PROBLEM is (yes my introduction was long) that now I have transfered the 3 first units to Parthia to become recruitables, they are also availables as Garrison troups in addition with already existing troups.
Exemple : 1 noble spearman and 2 eastern spearmans given by Noble Quarters instead of just 2 eastern...
(Archers and elephants are not concerned since they are not supposed to be garrison troups as far as I know).
How could I change that so that my garrisons do not become imbalanced ?
Thank you.

Noone ? Really ? I was sure many of you, talented modders already experienced the problem and found a solution for it...
I suppose it has something to do with the table 'armed_citizenry_units_to_unit_groups_junctions' but this look A WAY too complicated for me.
The other solution would be to create a brand new unit I guess, so that it is not planned to be in garrison.
Any other idea ?

The easiest way is probably to create a copy unit with a different name for the ones you don't want included in the garrisons. The alternative being creating an entirely new structure since if a unit is in a garrison group, the only thing preventing it being deployed as a garrison is whether that faction can access it. Quite a clunky system in many regards
