I need some serious help with reskinning existing units
Hi,
I'm not exactly sure where to post this, so do forgive me if this is the wrong Place.
Anyways, I am trying to reskin the vanilla parthian units more to my liking, but I am running into walls the whole time. I have tried watching multiple video tutorials, and reading these forums, but it feels like the information is scattered in 10 different places, and not one of them show me that which I need help with: how to make different variation "sub-folders" for different main-headers in the TWeak variant editor. (as in, under the "clothing" there are "eastern_tunics", under which are "tunics" under which are "tunic_1", "tunic_2", "tunic_3" etc...)
I mean that when I open the unit (uniform?) I want to change, it has these different headers for different stuff, like Skin, Armour, Helmet, etc. I understand that if I select a armor or cuirass and it goes into the proper slot, and that gets used, HOWEVER, I don't just want that one single, separate entity of an armor, but rather many different variations with different trousers and leg armor attached to the said variation. To me, achieving this seems impossible because I cannot find any way of making these "sub-headers" or "sub-folders". Every item I add, is just separate item, with no way of building a diverse variation. Likewise, I cannot edit any pre-exsisting such variations on the files, because they are greyed out.
I would desperately need someone to explain to me (like seriously explain as if I had no idea of anything...), how I can make these proper palettes / variations which contain more than 1 separate entity in them.
Also, I have no idea if my plea for help made any sense...
Thanks anyways!

Re: I need some serious help with reskinning existing units
I prefer to use note pad to do my variant mesh definitions and assembly kit to only see what different items look like.
I also have a tutorial series on different modding aspects. Check it out and you may find your answers there specifically look at the armour tutorial which also deals with adding custom made armours.
