Default Draw Distance of Custom Models

I've started experiencing issues with custom models of completely new units in that they basically fade to nothing as they become more distant from the camera, and lose all the colors of their faction.

I've looked over several forums and the closest I got to an answer was something to do with adding imposter models on each unit. If anyone could explain this better that'd be great. Thanks.

Imposter models are used at longer distances, you can make them what you want, but it is better for performance to use as many the same as possible. For example if a unit has armour a and armour b, the imposter model for both would be the same (for example armour a), and at long distance the game uses armour a for every guy in that unit.

If you are having problems, try just setting the imposter model to exactly the same as the actual model.

Most armour, clothes and skin variantmeshes. Open one of those and copy the imposter model. You can paste it right into the variantmesh of your units then.

AS sebidee said, best to use the same model that the vanilla vmd's use as your imposter model.
