it's why it's on my sig! For me it's got to the stage where I feel it's necessary well at least you would feel safer about a pre-order knowing that it didnt look+run like a turd!

No demo could be interpreted as "we must release the game as it is, then patch later". If that's the case i'd rather get on sale a yr later maybe. Although i'd probably cave in just because there's no alternative..

ahh just thought of a question i'd like to ask. is alien isolation using warscape and if so what changes has it undergone and will that carry over into another tw? or maybe it's two seperate teams but in essence the engine is the same..

I doubt Alien Isolation uses warscape. It's a completely different genre, with different rendering goals, different physics goals, and different... everything.

very different game, different engine I suppose. And because it is two different team, they will not talk about alien isolation. You will not ask to Dice what will be in the next nba live, even if the two team work for EA.

well someone usually finds these things out so all will become clear at some point. just interested to know that's all.

the series for me is pretty much dead atm but I do love the Warhammer genre so will def take a look at what CA does with it. (used to play it on the tabletop when i was young...well I have still have the warhammer40k figures and Blood bowl set!).

Regardless of whether its an answer to bash or praise, there are some questions which they cannot answer due to commercial reasons. Dont forget we're not the only ones who scour these forums. They could have watchdogs on their back, there could be bloggers or reviewers ready to pounce on CAs spokesmen quoting one reference in August 2013 and one in May 2014. 2 references that completely contradict each other. Bad for business, bad for reputation.

If CAs next game will be a financial let down, sega will see them as a liability and could end the contract. This could be the end of Creative Assembly but then again nothing lasts forever. All good things come to an end.

And to be honest, CA are not afraid to put a video of alpha gameplay which looks incredible compare to the final game, and no popular websites talk about it. Popular websites only care about the problem of battlefield 4 ....

    Here are my questions

Will you make the encyclopedia offline and user friendly?

Will you make it moddable? (oh wait I should have went to the modding summit all the way from Cyprus to England to ask this single question about modding, my bad)

Will you ever improve the ai upto a respectable level? (in future games)

Other than the so called free lc's what are you planning to do to earn back the communities support?

And thanks for the thread baptistus.

Baptistus, it's nice that you think that these people at CA might be willing to have an open two-way communitcation; but the fact of the matter is they have shown the complete opposite. They want absolutely nothing to do with anything with us. The only time they come here is to promote a new product. You have a better chance of growing wings and flying then getting the people at CA to do an open Q&A with the community. I'm guessing a big part of the reason for this is simply they don't want to be honest with us. I mean, who is going to want to come in here and actually be honest and have to say something like this:

Guys, we really wanted to get the game released and wanted to make sure we met deadlines so we didn't get in trouble, so we released a game in it's beta stage. And as it turns out this game is in much worse shape than we originally thought, and it is still riddled with huge problems even after 12 patches. I mean, we aren't really working on a lot of these problems anymore just because, well, they can't be solved without creating a brand new game. We're glad that some of you think we are and still are holding out hope. I know you're pissed off, but reallly, i really hope you buy our new DLC with 4 new factions that you can actually just unlock on your own for free. But please, just buy the DLC. I'd say i'm glad to be back here but i'm really not. I was actually dreading even having to post this promotion, but i'm still willing to tell you the opposite because i really hope you buy this pointless DLC that you could unlock for free. And i really have faith that a lot of you will. P.T. Barnum once said "A sucker is born every minute." and i have found no truer words than these through my dealings with many people throughout the TW community.

    Sincerely,

    Imaginary Honest CA Employee

My guess would be that it'll slow down to one patch every 2/3 months until around the end of the year, then they might do one larger final patch and then stop.

I would like to ask if costum settlements are possible, the cities from Rome II in my opinion look boring and like a corner park.

we have to wait for the battle map editor. I should be possible but without the battlemap editor, no.

As a general FYI, something is only "Official TWC" if TWC Staff do it. As such, thread renamed.

Kudos for taking the initiative, Baptistus, and hopefully it goes somewhere positive, but I'm highly skeptical it will.

Unfortunately, at this point the well is too thoroughly poisoned. Brandbll's faux "honest answer" is the best example of how; any answer CA gives to design decision/quality control/business practice questions that doesn't simply affirm the opinions the community has already formed will be seen as less than honest and worthless. Frankly, the community doesn't have any questions there; they simply want CA to affirm their opinion that the game sucks. That's not a valuable, two-way dialogue.

If you go forward, I would throw out any questions that start with "why can't we?" or "why did you?"; the only possible answer there is some variation of "It was a design decision we made because X"...and regardless of the value of X, the only possible outcome is to provide more ammunition for people who don't like R2 as it is now. A good example of that is Templar Knight's "Why was fire at will removed from javelin armed melee units?"...even if the question was asked in good faith, there's no positive direction the answer can be taken. "Will a fire-at-will option be added in the future for these units" might be a better option.

Not every question that's been added so far is loaded, and there's still a hope that this could actually be something positive. i'm just highly skeptical, seeing the questions that have been suggested so far.

All of these questions were arrived at by looking at the way the best TW mods have done in the past,
and what logicallly was needed for that to happen behind the scenes.

    Modding:
    Dependencies:
    -Will it be possible to have an is_enemy, is_neutral, is_allied , is_NAP , is_client, is_satrap dependency
for referencing assets like regions, agents and army's in scripts?

-Will it be possible to have a dependency that relies on is_in_capital_region,
whereby i mean capital is the faction in question's capital city ?

-Will there be a dependency check possile for specific region ownership?
    including a faction capital .

    Triggers:

-Will loss of specific units be possible to act as a trigger for certain events?

-Will loss of General/Admiral be possible to act as a trigger for certain events?

-Will it be possible to have effects happen based on an army, navy or agent being in a specific place,
defined by a range of campaign map coordinates?
for example a script that checks this at the end-of-turn for its faction.

-Will it be possible to have scripts that fire on a faction controlling city X,
with a check for the factions relation to other factions , including player faction?

-Will it be possible for triggers to depend on a factions (A) relation range(-100 to +100)
and/or its alliance/NAP status towards not only player (B)
but also other factions that are themselves allied to (B)

    Effects:
-Will we be able to have a scripted event when triggered cause the exchange of control of Region,Armies , Navy's or Agent,
from one faction including player to another?

-Will army's,Navies, or agents be spawnable?

-Will Units for a specific army or navy, identified perhaps through the proposed coords check be spawnable?

-Will Units perhaps be spawnable upon battle Start? like a garrison script for army's.

-Will specific paths for perhaps a scriptspawned army navy or agent be scriptable?

-will it be posible to give a specific army attrition condition , even though it is in good terrain with its faction having enough food?
