Need help with something else

Sorry, but I have posted this two other places on TW Center; and have rec'd only vague answer. I am not a nerd, I only do this stuff one or twice a year and I don't remember things.

When I launch into MD II, whether vanilla or mod(I have Darthmod now) I have to re-adjust the audio every time. I dislike music emensely and want it shut down. Someone said somethong about preferences being "read only" Is that reference the same in instructions, here, for installing, changing the read only setting???? IF SO, I have gone in and done that 3-4 times and it doesn't stay. I follow instructions, hit apply and I can go right back in & read only is still checked. So, I don't know if it is really applied!!! If there is something else, please let me know. I have VISTA

Oh, so only "nerds" know how to fix their own problems on the computer? (man I wish was really nerdy)

Hopefully one comes by and lends a hand. Or perhaps just delete the music files if you "emensely" dislike them.
