DeI mod

I have retail copy of rome 2, and for the life of me cant figure out how to patch it to latest version. I want to play the DeI mod as I have heard so many good things about it. But everytime I go to launch it, it hangs at Rome 2 beginning screen then go to crash to desktop, says game has stopped working. Is there any way to patch a retail version of rome 2 or anyone have any idea in how I can get this mod to work. I have no other mods installed and I have tryed reinstalling the game multiple times.

Hrmmm? Rome 2 should auto update itself via Steam, you can go rightclick>properties>updates to change update settings. As for DeI, I've never managed to get it working, so can't help there.

First things first, Steam auto updates, Retail copy or not.

Second thing, are you using TWC version or steam version? (TWC version is recomended, Steam version is buggy because steam.)

Third, are you using ONLY DEI with no OTHER MODS? If the answer to this question is no, DELETE ALL other mods and try again.
