Default Winter is coming...to Cappadocia. Advisor to Turkey's PM beats man

“Why are you running away from me Israeli sperm,” Erdoğan reportedly said, using a Turkish word that is used as a curse.

The incident took place as the premier toured the western city of Soma which was recently devastated by a coal mine fire that left close to 300 people dead.

In footage of the incident published online Erdoğan is seen surrounded by security personnel who proceeded to beat the man following the incident, according to the reports.

Erdoğan, has come under heavy criticism following the mining accident for not supporting social security benefits for miners, and for failing to require coal mining companies to use updated equipment, which might had saved many lives.

The incident is among others that point to an increasingly hostile environment for the country’s Jews.

Late last year, a group of Erdoğan’s supporters, shouted “are you Jewish” as they attacked a woman as she was walking in the streets of Istanbul, according to a report. The woman posted pictures on Twitter which showed bruises on her face and body.

Erdoğan and his allies have also blamed “international groups” and the “Jewish diaspora” for unrest that recently rocked the country.

I guess so much for the facade of democracy. But i hope the next step won't be a horde? A khal who cannot ride is no longer a khal

ing Advisor. Only enough brave to kick someone already down and two special polices handling him. Not have enough face to own what he did. That people protest because their hearts, insides are burning, like me. 292 miners dead and people are sad. You and your clowns are responsible about those deaths. On above that, you are kicking mourning people. Idiots!

That said I believe above report is wrong. No media (especially anti-Erdoğan media) reports he curses, let alone saying something about related to Jews.

I share your view about that advisor and others like him. Politicians all around must be made to realise they are not kings. We don't need creeps and thugs as politicians..

Such scenes are nothing new. They didn't suddenly became these dumb ass people. They're just happening in close proximity time wise that more people are being against it. Ignorance is still bliss...

This Aid picture should be in campaign poster for the next 10 years : "AKP, going the extra kick"

I don't see the problem here. This is no different than when Jean Chrétien put a protester in a choke hold and ended up breaking one of his teeth in 1996. Protesters(From any country) like to create trouble and disturb regular citizens, so i'm not going to shed a tear for any protester who gets roughed up.

^I am sure those government thugs were kicking him with the best interest of 'regular citizens' in mind

Most likely the protester did something that was illegal, and thus justice was served. The guy should be thankful that he wasn't just shot on site by those military police officers, and only walked away with a beating.

Oh please, if you are going to troll at least try a bit harder. That's just pathetic.

Aside from that, Erdogan and his ilk showing their ugly faces again, but I can't say I'm surprised. Hopefully the Turkish voters will learn from this. If not, well, then there is little chance of them ever joining the EU at this rate.

I love how people act surprised when protesters, who are more often than not people are who looking for trouble/want to cause trouble get roughed up by politicians/police and proceed to call it abuse of power or whatever. When Jean Chrétien did a choke hold on a protester and roughed him up, it was because the protester obstructed his path as he was leaving. The article is fairly vague on details, so it highly likely that the protester in this case obstructed a Government officials duty, and thus military police restrained him. Jean Chrétien didn't face criminal charges so I doubt this Advisor will face criminal charges simply because he roughed up a protester.

Newsflash: in a democratic country governed by the rule of law you cannot simply kick people because they annoy you, particularly when they are already held down by two other people. I for my part do not want my politicians to be able to blatantly violate the rights of others.

Then again, your posts here show zero regard for the human rights of others so I can't say I'm surprised by you defending this piece of scum.

In Erdoganistan, the advisor does kick mourning people who is already down and held by two police. And he then take 7 days rest from doctor. (may be his foot is wounded?). And other day we could see he is directly behind of PM on photos.

We have a saying here; "when Imam farts, his congretation ." I mean to explain where from he finds the courage to kick downed and held people.

Oh my God. That's the best saying ever. I would rep you for that, my Turkish friend, but sadly I am unable to do so with my raised warning level. Next time, I promise!

Wrong. From what I heard, out of frustration with the government the guy just kicked a wheel of a car in the president's motorcade while it was passing by. That's it. Yes, he should have been pushed back or even detained by the police for getting too close and striking a vehicle in the motorcade. However, that does not provide one with an excuse to kick someone while they are being held to the ground. In no civilized country is that an acceptable form of behavior. Turkish people are reasonably incensed by this episode, if not the real crux of the issue, which is government inability to regulate mining operations and assure that miners are working in safe conditions.

When it comes to being a dickish dictator, how is Tayyip worse than his predecessors exactly?

Last time I checked Turkey has been ruled by authoritarian dictators since forever.

Indeed, you can't just go around beating people just for the sake of it. This protester obstructed a Government official and prevented him from carrying out his job, by kicking a Government officials motorcade if Roma Victrix is correct, and thus he faced the consequences. Would you prefer him to be shot? Those military police were carrying lethal weapons and they could've shot him, but instead they roughed him up.

The protester should have known better than to obstruct a Government official, so I don't see why people are upset. You are correct in stating I don't care about human rights though, but you're incorrect regarding me defending this "scum". While i'm not an expert in Turkish law, i'm sure there's something that states it's illegal to obstruct a Government official from performing his job. What if the protester had an explosive on him when he ran up to the Government officials motorcade? He would be dead. The protester got off easy and this whole thing is being blown out of proportion.
