Default The Protector's War (An Emberverse Mod Proposal)

I'd like to propose a mod based on the Emberverse sci-fi/fantasy series, which is a series of novels set in the Northwest United States. In the events of the first novel, a sudden event, called the Change, causes all post-medieval technology to fail, including gunpowder and electricity, and rockets the world back into the Dark Ages, the age of steel and sweat.

The mod would be set at the beginning of the Protector's War novel, and would contain spoilers for Dies the Fire, the first in the series. If you are interested in reading the series, I suggest you stop reading now.

The factions (that I've sussed out so far) are as follows. I am also considering proposing other factions depending on the demand for this mod:

    The Bearkillers
    Clan Mackenzie
    Portland Protectors Association (PPA)
    Central Oregon Rancher's Association (CORA)
    Clan Mackenzie
    Corvallis
    Mount Angel
    Bandits
    United States of Boise (USB)

I am also considering adding the Dunedan Rangers, although I'm not sure if they had been 'recognized' by the Bearkillers, Clan Mackenzie, and Mount Angel yet. If anyone is interested in details, feel free to message me or to comment on this thread. I look forward to hearing from you!

I'm going to start posting information on the factions as they are thought-out and developed, starting with the Bearkillers.

    The Bearkillers

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
    Faction Leader: Mike Havel
    Heir: Will Hutton

    Generals: Mike Havel (FL)
    Will Hutton (FH)
    Kenneth Larsson
    Eric Larsson

    Controls: Larsdalen (Capital, Castle)
    Rickreal (Town)
    Amityville (Castle)
    Salem (Castle)

    Religion: Catholic

    Description:

The Bearkillers, also known as ‘The Outfit,’ are a nation located on the borders of the PPA, and have an uneasy truce with them. The Bearkillers have a close relationship with Clan Mackenzie, due to the illegitimate child between Mike Havel and Juniper Mackenzie. The Bearkillers use advanced Post-Change technology, invented by Kenneth Larsson, in combat to their advantage. Their focus is on slow, heavily-armored units, including their elite A-Lister Archer Cavalry. The Bearkiller symbol is a red bear’s head.

    Clan Mackenzie
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

    Faction leader: Juniper Mackenzie
    Heir: Nigel Loring

    Generals: Juniper Mackenzie (FL)
    Nigel Loring (FH)
    Sam Aylward
    Chuck Barstow

    Controls: Dun Juniper (Capital, Castle)
    Sutterdown (City)
    Dun Fairfax (Castle)

    Religion: Wiccan

    Description:

Clan Mackenzie is a neo-Celtic Wiccan clan located on the borders of the PPA, and has an uneasy truce with them. Rudi Mackenzie, Juniper’s son, is one of the biggest links in the alliance with the Bearkiller Outfit. In battle, Clan Mackenzie fights using guerilla warfare, using mainly eagle-eyed but poorly-armored archers, and no cavalry. Their flag is white antlers on green, with a white flag between the antlers.

    Portland Protective Association (PPA)

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
    Faction Leader: Norman Arminger
    Faction Heir: Conrad Renfrew

    Generals: Norman Arminger (FL)
    Conrad Renfrew (FH)
    Eddie Liu
    Emiliano Gutierrez
    Alexi Stavarov
    Piotr Stavarov

    Controls: Portland (Capital, City)
    Todenangst (Castle)
    Pendleton (City)
    Ath (Castle)
    Dayton (Castle)
    Gervais (Castle)

    Religion: Portland Neo-Catholic

    Description:

The Portland Protective Association is the largest nation in the Willamette Valley, controlling the most land and containing the largest population. Led by the maniacal Lord Protector Norman Arminger, the Association is based off of the Norman-English nobility. The economy lies heavily on slave and serf labor, and any fleeing serfs and slaves are ruthlessly hunted down and often killed. The PPA military is elite, with a focus on heavily-armored Portland Knights, mounted jousters who can run crush an unarmored enemy with ease. The PPA flag, known as the ‘Lidless Eye’, is inspired by Sauron’s eye from The Lord of the Rings.
