Default The main gas-company in the Ukraine (Burisma) now has an american in the board of directors

Well, the main Ukrainian gas-company (Burisma) now added an american to its board of directors, the following very-honest looking guy:

That is Hunter (sic) Biden. No relation to Dementia Biden, current US VP, other than being his son

    Freedom and Democracy wins again.

Things surely don't change in the US, do they? Cheney and Iraq oil, Biden and gas in the new protectorate.

And the point being? It's not like the Ukraine gas companies have the gas, they just transport it. I mean, sure nepotism and all that, I just find this kind of stuff doesn't actually change as much about a political situation as people think, it mainly looks bad
"Sebaceans once had a god called Djancaz-Bru. Six worlds prayed to her. They built her temples, conquered planets. And yet one day she rose up and destroyed all six worlds. And when the last warrior was dying, he said, 'We gave you everything, why did you destroy us?' And she looked down upon him and she whispered, 'Because I can.' "

It looks like a political statement mainly. However on medium term it might help a lot, if the Americans start exporting LNG to the EU. When that happens the EU would need some "motivation" to speed up the implementation of the reverse-flow.

Technically the reverse-flow at full capacity would be possible even today, except it would need Gazprom's cooperation since they own the largest pipes on the EU territory.

That cooperation could be obtained by simply adjusting the laws, separating the carriers from the suppliers and mandating carrier neutrality.

Gazprom would continue to own the pipes and charge reasonable prices for transporting the American or Norwegian gas to Ukraine, Austria, Czech Republic, Hungary or Bulgaria (the EU countries most dependent of the Russian gas today), but laws need to be changed in order for that to happen.

A bit of lobbying from the US might speed things up considerably, so Biden Jr. may have an important part to play.

I am sure there is no conflict of interest between having his father play a role in deciding what happens in the Ukraine, and him being a director in the largest Ukrainian gas company. While he might make a few hundred million dollars from that coincidence, clearly he is there for humanitarian reasons

Why the hell is he wearing an American flag on his lapel anyway? Is that the norm amongst executives, now? Just in case people forget what country they're from?

Soo, Ukraine got another Crony Capitalist? I mean, really, why didn`t they send someone who is not a relative to a political figure?

Also, it is this kind of hipocrisy and double standards that make US Government look bad in the eyes of the world:
MATT LEE: And it was — the question was referred to the vice president’s office.

But I’m wondering if the State Department has any concerns or any thoughts about the vice president’s son joining the board of directors of this Ukrainian gas company.

Does — in particular, I understand when — the White House would refer this to the vice president’s office, but does this building diplomatically have any concerns about potential perceptions of conflict or/cronyism – which is what you’ve often accused the Russians of doing?

JEN PSAKI: No, he’s a private citizen.

LEE: I — OK. But then so the — do you consider that the Russian oligarchs who control or the Ukrainian oligarchs who control these, they’re all private citizens as well, correct?

PSAKI: We certainly wouldn’t put them in the same category on that.
    What a bunch of hypocrites!

White House press secretary Jay Carney referred ABC’s Jon Karl to the vice president’s office and said Hunter Biden’s work did not reflect an endorsement by the administration in any way.

    White House exchange:

JON KARL: On another subject, Hunter Biden has now taken a position with the largest oil and gas company — holding company in Ukraine. Is there any concern about at least the appearance of a conflict there – (inaudible) — the vice president’s son –

JAY CARNEY: I would refer you to the vice president’s office. I saw those reports. You know, Hunter Biden and other members of the Biden family are obviously private citizens, and where they work does not reflect an endorsement by the administration or by the vice president or president. But I would refer you to the vice president’s office.

    State Department exchange:

MATT LEE: And it was — the question was referred to the vice president’s office. But I’m wondering if the State Department has any concerns or any thoughts about the vice president’s son joining the board of directors of this Ukrainian gas company. Does — in particular, I understand when — the White House would refer this to the vice president’s office, but does this building diplomatically have any concerns about potential perceptions of conflict or/cronyism – which is what you’ve often accused the Russians of doing?

PSAKI: We certainly wouldn’t put them in the same category on that.

LEE: No, I’m not suggesting that — I’m not — and I’m not suggesting that it should be in the same category, but I’m wondering if if there are concerns in this building about the perception of — about how the Russians and / or the Ukrainians would perceive the involvement of a son of the vice president of the United States in this, especially given the situation.

    PSAKI: No, there are not.

American, French, Israeli and British government's ILLEGAL aggression against the Syrian people, without any proof for chemical attacks in Douma, and without waiting for OPCW to conduct their investigation..
Sons of *******, leave that poor, war torn country in peace.
If you are a citizen of one of these countries, then DO NOT ask any help from me on these forums, since, in protest against this aggression by your governments, I do not provide assistance/help anymore.
Let Syria be finally in peace.

A video of false chemical attack in Douma, Syria, which led to Western illegal attacks.

    Surely just a coincidence.

Everything America does is a 'co·in·ci·dence'

    noun
A remarkable concurrence of events or circumstances without apparent causal connection.

Biden is the most likable VP we've had in a long time. Just look at our last one.

I think that cheney was just a more obvious creep, like GWB was a more obvious fall-guy/bad president. But sadly the Obama/Biden administration appears to be a sort of 'more of the same', based firmly on the precedent of Bush/Cheney.
