Plans for your empire

how do you plan to expand your empire? what faction are you going to be, are you going to keep good relations with the pope and catholic factions and just invade africa/asia minor/eastern europe?

or will you take over europe and become excommunicated doing whatever you want?


im still debating on wether im going to play england or sicily, or maybe even france :hmmm:

as england i would probably do some crusading first until i have enough power to go after france and the possible catholic factions reinforcing the french. then i would take over spain and the HRE, finally moving into italy.

as france i would provoke england or spain while crusading a lot, and if i cant provoke a war ill attack, but make sure that i cover the borders of whoever im not attacking.

as sicily i think i would crusade and take over africa/asia minor and not turn on the pope for the first campaign. the second one i would go for europe.

ill probably play each of these factions twice, each time either going for africa/asia minor and the other time going for europe.

I want to start off as the Scots and see if I can finish William Wallace's rebellion against English oppression. I'll either do that or I'll do the opposite and start off as England and try to be as good an English King as I can be. This means murdering, trickery, lying etc etc. You know how those medieval Anglo/Saxons were.

I will probably play as russia 1st (as i did in the original mtw). Advance on poland and hold my possition and make larger army to prepare for the mongol tribes.
Depends how diplomacy goes, i will probably advance into europe or middle east (but not both in the same time).

After that ill probably play as france/england or holy empire (i loved crusades in the original mtw). :tooth:

first thing I'm going to do as Poland is conquer the east. how, you ask? firstly, conquering the rebel states to my west and securing them against the HRE. then, moving eastwards towards Russia. then, conquering russia.

I loved to play Norway in MTW XL. But I think Ill try Scotland first, and a more doable campaign of trying to take the British Isles. Then, Im going for a more civilized faction, like Egypt. Time to bring the word to those smelly barbarians.

Hi everyone,

At first I will try Egypt, allying with the Turks and Moors and trying to be nice with them even if we got into war!! behaving as should Muslims behave in reality. However, stopping the crusades and converting the Cypres and the Sicilyian isles to islam then lunching Jihads is my objective. Helping my allis against the Byz and spain as a second objective.

After that maybe I will try Scotland as it seems a very hard campagin if CA made a real good AI.

You can only Jihad on Muslim lands. Jihads work only on previously owned muslim lands which are pretty limited at the start of the game.

Spain- Beat the **** out of the moors on Iberia, ally with port until further notice, take Barcelonca (i hope its rebel, but it might be for france). Try to take portugal. Peace with france, Take north africa, take Corsica and Sardina, take france, take western europe, take america.

After I have conquered those provinces and secured my defense, I am going to crush the Byzantine Empire and keep peace with Egypt as long as possible until they attack me. I am hoping to make them to my allies and live in peace with my brothers - hopefully the diplomacy system will be much better this time around.
Then conquering Greece and making the Black Sea to an Ottoman lake once more.
After that I am going to visit Europe, but I am willing to stay.
And then maybe say hello to the New World.

So someone woke this thread up,i am posting my plans,and they look quite same like this Man ones.

Good Question.
A good general never gives away his designs until victory is a forgone conclusion. There are so many conditions that even a best laid plan depends on. However, assuming the weather is fair, this is what I'm going to do;
First, I'm going to spend the initial hours running the tutorial as Duke William and playing historical battles. This is granted if I recieve the game on the first day and the All Factions mod isn't released yet. It's really not worth it for me to rush in and conquer the faction I want to play as without consideration for strategy, and being able to appreciate each turn of the game.
With that said, I've considered starting as Venice or Spain to pass the hours.
It's also kinda lame and blasphemous to kill your favorite people when simple patience can avoid the effort.

When Sicily is unlocked via mod, I'm going to take my time and savor each of the twohundred and twentyfive turns. I will send my spy into the Balkans and my diplomat and princess north into Italy. The diplomat will most likely start in the Kingdom of Naples. Initially, Palermo will be my castle and Naples my city. My first action will be to build or upgrade the existing churchs to prevent heresy and bolster the faith of my people. I will groom my priests for the papacy, working on conversion in Tunisia, keeping one at home for heretics. Then I will upgrade the port in Palermo, and the military center in Naples. After that, I will create a well rounded half stack and send it into Thessaly, and build a fort on the coast, while recruiting a full stack in Sicily. I will keep a half stack garrisoned in the south of the island to watch for Saracens.
My first military adventure will be the liberation of Aragon from rebel status . I will then ally with the Spanish and after leaving a garrison in Barcelona, and presumably Valencia if it's not taken. If it is taken by the Spanish I will work out a Rights of Transversion with the Spanish crown. If it is taken by the Moors, then my troops will mobilize for total war. I will secure a castle at Gibralter for the Sicilian crown to stem the flow of Moors while helping with the reconquista at all times. Corsica and Sardinia will fall next.
While this is happening, I will ally myself with the Milanese and remain neutral with the Venetians. I will marry one princess to the Doge of Venice and one to the heir of the Holy Roman Empire. I will continue marrying to Venice and their holdings in Dalmatia for the entire game. After the East and South of the Iberian are secured, I will continue building military and religious sites in Palermo, with a brothel and trade center in Naples for better spys and assassins.
I will continue to reinforce my fort in Thessaly while hopefully remaining allied with Byzantium. At some point, when my influence is sufficient with the pope, I will push east into Southern France, keeping a coastal empire at all times. Marseilles will be my next objective in the campaign. During this era I will create a strong northern army from a converted castle at Naples and I will take east central Italy. I will offer a war between Milan and Venice, while my general gains strength and command pushing to Marseilles. When Marseilles is taken I will offer truce with France, or alliance against the English and Holy Roman Empire.
When war breaks out with the Venetians, I will invade from the south, while the secret army closes in from the west, flanking them. My garrison in Thessaly will march to Dalmatia. This where the assassins trained in Naples come in. With luck, I will be able to execute enough generals to sieze the throne via marriage. If not, I will destroy the survivors in battle.
I will participate in the crusades and gain an ally in the pope, or perhaps one of my priests will become one. I will try to create a kingdom in Antioch.
My goal after this will be the unification of Italy.

I can't say If everything will go down like this. There are too many factors in the game. I remember one campaign as the Danes where the Almohads took over all of Western Europe and Britain. If a power becomes a threat, I will ally and fight accordingly. But the Unification, Crusades and Reconquista are important to me and will be objectives whatever happens.
