Graphic enhancements

I want to download this mod via Steam. However, my computer runs it on medium with a bit of lag (I need a new rig bad..) anyways... do all these new graphical improvements you guys have added decrease the speed of the game at all? Maybe someone with a stronger computer would not notice it but I would hate to take the effort in downloading all 5 parts just to have it choppy and 2 hour end turn times.... Anyways... I guess only way to find out is to see for myself right?

Like you, I don't have a much powerful machine (run on hybrid settings with most stuff on low/medium and somethings in high). What I can tell is that, as much as it is punishing to your machine, the mod is worth it. The main problem with graphics is that the unit size is bigger, so you'll have more men on screen, meaning your PC will have a harder time rendering all of 'em. However, with a couple of tweaks in the graphical settings (and turning auxiliary memory on to help your GPU) it can run quite smoothly ;D

High unit detail, medium textures, and pretty much everything else low (No point in having lagging game for beautiful trees ). However, as much as my beast is under powered, I do have a GPU (ok, it's only 520Mb, but still), so I dunno, does your laptop have a GPU or it uses the onboard graphical port? (in that last case, maybe it's better have everything on low, I know it's lame, but it's still a way to play the game ;D)
