Conversion of Cultures
Hey guys, just a bit confused over culture in DeI. For example in my Carthage campaign I have complete control of the Africa province (the one with Carthage in it). I have two temple to Baal'Hammon which give 4 punic culture each yet Punic influence is still dropping. It even says my influence is 10 compared to the Desert Nomadic influence of 2, yet I am still losing influence in the one province I really shouldn't be.
If you have any answers, questions or need for clarification please respond.
Gracias

Re: Conversion of Cultures
It's not a problem with DEI, CA implemented this a few patches ago. Simply put, depending on the region of the map you're in, there will be something called 'regional traditions', meaning that, unless you are of the same culture of the place (assuming there is only one base culture, Magna Grecia and other regions have more than one), you'll never get 100% cultural conversion, at least not unless you use dignitaries.

Re: Conversion of Cultures
In the new system you get a balance between the influences you have 10 influence the other 2. That means you get 10/12=83% culture when it settels down.

Re: Conversion of Cultures
There is also a problem with nomad influence. Like I'm playing with Masaesily in North Africa, but when I build a temple you get Eastern influence bonus instead of a boost to the nomad culture. So it's actually making it worse for your own culture if you build temples

Re: Conversion of Cultures
Local Traditions should disappear if your culture is dominate. Like at 70% or 80%.

Re: Conversion of Cultures
Is there a way to have the new governors introduced in 9.0 to eliminate local traditions? Personally I think that after enough time you should be able to fully convert the province to your culture.

Re: Conversion of Cultures
I have another question about the culture conversion. There are a few bonuses out there which seem to do similar changes. So does anybody know what the difference between:
+% on latin influence
+% on latin conversion
My guess is that latin conversion speeds up the conversion per turn, while latin influence increases the maximum you can reach (since CA introduced the new culture traditions which defines the max possible conversion rate for a particular region.
Can you guys confirm this?

Re: Conversion of Cultures
While I am not sure about the exact differences, conversion does convert (heh) the province faster than influence does.
