    Today I won a battle easily against a barbarian tribe who out numbered me 4500 vs. 8000. I kept their calvery busy on my wings and sent two units from my center a little forward to meet there advance. This created gap in their center like it always does and I sent my general through and hit them from behind. The enemy army routed immediately. I use this everytime and have not lost a single battle in 200 turns. Playing On H/H. I think the moral shock from routing units should be turned down just a tad. Still this is the most realistic battle mod for this game. I read a ton of military history and this is exactly how envision battles played out. I just wish the A.I was a little bit better at recognizing when a part of their line is about to fail and reinforce. It seems that all they do is rush all their men strait into battle, one on top of the other. I play Napoleon Total war and with a couple of mods and they always keep units in reserve. I dont understand why rome 2 never incorporated that into their A.I. I'snt a reserve portion of an army critical in every battle. Ugh, I'll stop ranting keep up the good work.

    I am also having an issue with the battles. Morale is way too flimsy and the kill rates have been increased too much (never thought I'd say this when it came to this mod!) The matched combat removal is also not desirable in my opinion. The animations devolve into men being poked and falling over. I also agree that the special formations situation is a bit troubling. They are redundant. Will continue to test.

    I think some of this depends on who are are fighting. Though the battles can be formulaic I've yet to have times where I've managed to cut a hole. I have, though, noticed the Greek factions sometimes keeping troops in reserve for a while before throwing them in (usually around the time their frontal troops get exhausted). I have seen, though, lower quality troops being routing before I start the mass rout with the hammer. Usually enough time passes that I am able to roll the flanks around the enemy before smashing them with the hammer again (usually secures victory).

    I so agree that a lot of this could be solved by the AI keeping some troops back to stop my cavalry from flanking as the only forces I have to go through are their cavalry to reach the back of their line.

    Just a quick notice: no longer works with DeI 0.95L and the new beta.

    i like the changes, but battles are to slow, i dont think in real ancient battles men were so difficult to kill, and there are not shield pushes and the historically profesional soldiers were trained and didnt tire so fast

    Actually, the slow battles are intended. The notice about it not working with DeI 0.95L is in relation to crashes when loading a battle.

    Is it known what causes the incompatibility with the new patches?

    from what I have found so far,it seems to be with Aux units or AOR.im still working on it

    Just to confirm...not working with the new DEI patches. Did exhaustive testing with compatibility, and narrowed it down in the end to the DEI beta and other patches. Hope fixed soon, as I consider this essential to playing RTW 2.

    I think I had a problem along this line before and as soon as CA's patch went from beta to live it fixed it

    What do I do? It won't load a battle..keeps crashing...with DeI and the latest battle realism file.

    The submod seems working good with emperor edition. I just noticed that pikemen have swords instead of pikes when in not-phalanx formation.

    just to let everyone know that ive fixed ABR.should release in middle of the week after having to rebuild AOR unit tables,still a few things to sort out balancing wise

    wasn't as bad as I thought,just removed tables until the mod worked then fixed the buggy tables
    but I came across other bugs while fixing the mod,so I fixed one problem then another came up 3 or 4 time
