Bubbba did you some testing with deadliness and initiative? Are those changes already included in the submod of yours? Because those deadl/ini problems are the only real "bad" thing i can see about DeI and since it will take some team until the modding team of DeI will adress balancing i did love to use your submod if you did some balancing.

Heavy cav really need speeding up a bit, it makes sense that cataphacts would be slow but my equites can barely outrun heavy infantry. Other than that it does seem an improvement, before in some battles the enemy army would route after taking 2/300 casualties and then get completely annihilated.
First impressions.
I did a testfight with hastati (spear early) vs legionaries.
The leagionaries are winning with around 10 kills more, also the hastati start to waver early but not actually feeling. +1 for this
The battle between those two units took almost 45mina bit too much imo. Probably due to the fact that there is no deadliness and initiative. So the battle will actually take longer.
I started to think about giving deadliness and ini according to their tiers/upkeepcost to present their elite way of fighting and such. For example: Why should have an early hastati unit the same amount of initiative like a triari or a hoplite? The hastati should have 1 and the triari 2, the best of the best 4 (or whatsover). I have the feeling that in normal DeI the deadliness and initiative is given out to easy to units, which results in balancing problems.
I will some more test, just wanted to give you my first impression. Keep it up.
Edit: second Test. Royal Swordsmen (Seleucid) vs Pretorian Guard. The Royal Swordsmen had around 10kills more (better meele stats) but the battle was a draw in the end. The 60min timer went down to 0. Battles really seems slower, since the overall dmg is reduced to the abstinence of deadliness and ini.

Hi! I think that Hollow Square formation is too overpowered: can u tweak it by, for example, reducing melee abilieties while they are in square? Also because they have an unbreakable morale and they don't get tired. Concerning fatigue, i noticed that if u don't issue the attack order to units they don't get tired, for example if an hoplite phalanx gets charged and u don't issue the attack order, the hoplites will fight without getting tired.
Hey bubba 777, i think the matched combat is not working properly, still see units fighting with duel animations.
yay, now it works fine![]()
will this be compatible with .95 when it releases this week?
Hmm are you supposed to load this ahead of the main DEI or behind it? If I load it ahead I freeze at the rome2 splash screen and it never loads. If I turn it off or load it behind DEI it loads normally but I assume that means all the DEI combat superceedes this then defeating the purpose.
Confirmed, game freezes at main loading screen.
Confirmed freeze.
I guess it is because the new version of .95, namely "a" whcih dresden uploaded today.
@opock: I think you are right, it should be loaded before DeI. Otherwise most of the changes will be overwritten by DeI.
I think it is just a matter of time until Buba will update this mod and i am looking forward to it![]()
