I just started playing this mod in the last couple weeks. So far, I've tried the Dwarves of Khazad-Dum and the Northern Dunedain. Out of the two, I picked the dwarves because of the scripted events leading up to the recapturing of Moria and dealing with the Balrog.
I played most of them and Umbar, Noldor (aka Imladris) , Dol Amroth and Dorwinion were the entertaining ones. My vote to Imladris beacuse their units were really powerfull and their goals are very difficult.
Umbar for me!always been a massive fan of the Black Numenoreans but this just tops it. Especially with the new updates coming up with Umbar. Gotta love the DaC creators for adding Umbar

The remnant of the King's Men who survived in Middle-earth after the destruction of Númenor were called the Black Númenóreans since they worshipped Sauron and were "enamoured of evil knowledge". They worshipped Darkness, and believed that Melkor and Sauron were its most powerful servants. At the end of the Second Age two of their number, Herumor and Fuinur, became lords among the Haradrim, though what became of them is unknown.
A tie between Isengard and OotMM, close second is Angmar and Rhun is my third favorite faction.
Yep i love playing the evil guys and i haven't played any good factions since i installed this mod.
I just love the location and the epic defense of Moria when Balin arrives. The constant attacks on dains halls by the dwarves and all those epic battles in wrakyaburg against thranduils forces were so fun in my campaign.
Isengard is epic bacause at the beginning you have to deal with some rohan fullstacks (dat heroics at the fords of isen) and then the endless war against bree was so awesome.
Angmar has awesome high-tier units but this campaign was a little too hard for me to be my favourite. (endless breeland and dwarven stacks)
Rhûn just looks awesome, they have a nice position and you get to fight a lot of factions (and you will get khands units in the next release)
My next factions to be played will be Enedwaith and Dunland I'll see how fun they are.
Huge fan of Thranduil's Realm. I love how easily it is to harass enemy units with just a couple ranged units. Also I love this thing I do on occasion where I take all the ranged units I have at start and recruit 1 or 2 more, and then I just go to a village and see how long it takes and how many rebels I can shoot dead before I have to go in and slice them dead. Also I love Mirkwood in general I find it to be a fun first goal of uniting the entire forest and then choosing who's the bigger threat afterwards to eliminate.
Dol Amroth every time: cair a alph! Close second for me is Dorwinion, I thoroughly enjoy their campaign because Rhun fight hard to keep their lands and then you get to kick Mordor from behind, once you finally bring Rhun to their knees of course. Finally, jostling for second with Dorwinion is the Vale of Anduin. You have to fight hard to keep your lands and their units are pretty cool (I should hope so, I added most of them to their roster), I also like that almost their entire militia force can hide anywhere and their whole faction can hide in even small clumps of trees so lots of ambushes and surprise attacks keep the battles interesting. The Bears are insane as well, they look good and they can just cut down hordes of Orcs. Their new intro vid by Holy is also my favourite one.

No one likes the dark side of power? So I'll be the first one!
Mordor.
*listed only evils as favourites, gets not considered dark side of power*
I find it difficult to decide between Dúnedain of the North, Imladris or Galadhrim. The Dúnedain are new, have lots of nice recruiting options. You can have Eldar volunteers and Sons of the Falllen as mercenaries and recruit in foreign settlements. Imladris units are beautiful and very, very good. The Galadhrim have a very fun starting position. At first you have to watch your western border, if you don't the Orcs of Moria will invade your lands. After a while Dol Guldur comes knocking on your door. You can decide to just defend your homelands, or take Celeborn and cross the river to conquer Dol Guldur and cleanse the forest.
After seeing the preview of the update units and the new units my vote goes to the Elves of the Golden Wood!
IMLADRIS
- Elrond is a bawss
- The Eldar Horse-Archer bodyguard of his sons is not only aesthetically beautiful, they're absolutely lethal
- Defending Imladris with a handful against hordes of orcs is the cherry on top of my sundae
- You're always outnumbered, ALWAYS
- There are three groups of trolls running around your lands, it adds immensely to the fun-factor
- Silver Armored Eldar Units of Imladris, namely the Imladris Lancers and Imladris Rangers (with the Armor upgrade)
- Imladris Guardians give a whole new meaning to "YOU SHALL NOT PASS!!"
- Eldarinwe Bodyguards are the most under-appreciated and overpowered unit in the whole game, I've taken out 1,500 orcs with just one bodyguard and not a single other unit on the field, lost 7!
- Lategame Golden Army of Eldarinwe Doom.... COME GET SUM
Overall, very strong units, good Cavalry, resourceful game-play (can't throw units away), and lategame units are BAMF. And restoring the Might of the Eldar is what I'm all about![]()
Yes the Noldorin is back, time for the orcs to get some hard eldar boots up their arses.I think that Imladris is one of my favourite factions in DaC. The strength of their forces are amazing, I attacked Isengard and met four armies at the same time under the command of Saruman himself, eradicated them all and took Isengard with only 399 in own casualties. When I aided Gondor I obliterated 3 same-size orc armies on the pelennor and I only lost 9, 10, 9 in the separate battles, moslty bodyguards that respawned. The funniest thing were when Mr Sauron ordered a crusade on Menegroth, formerly knowned as Goblin Town, I slayed well over a dozen evil armies with the same force under Elladan the Merciless, without retraining it, after the campaign at least 20.000 evil men and orcs had died on the foothills of the Misty Mountains and about 700 elves, 500 who died in one battle when i charged some Corsairs up into the mountains, yeah not our proudest moment. I also slained both Khamul the Easterling as well as the Witch-king of Angmar as well as two faction heirs in a row of the Easterlings of Rhun and countless generals.
The mighty dwarves of erebor!!!! This little things have some pretty looking badass units!!!!!I like them very much for their units, and quest to destroy the orcs of gundabad and retake their "holy" place.... mount gundabad where the oldestof the fathers of the dwarves awoke , king Durin the deathless!!!!Seroiusly nowi really enjoy playing with that faction and defeating someone with ease with little dwarves with α 5 meters axe bigger than even themeselves
!!!!

When the 1.0 version is released I'm going to play a Khazad-Dum campaign. They have the same cool units that the Dwarves of Erebor have and the bodyguard of Balin looks awesome. I would love to play the big lord in Moria and take on the Misty Mountains and help the Elves and Beornings against Dol Guldur.
