Money
Great Mod, one of the best put together I've played for the TW series, dying to get stuck into it, tried as both Romans and Georgians and found after 3 turns i was in permanent red, I had only built 2 sets of roads and recruited 3 units and bankrupt lol, is it a bug or do i just suck big time at campaign, if so this is by far the hardest version of TW I've ever played lol

Re: Money
You may actually have to disband some of your more expensive units to start with in order to build up your economy and use armies of conscripts/militia to get your kingdom expanding.

Re: Money
Money is notoriously tight in Broken Crescent. Not every aspect of the mod is hard but money is certainly an issue. A couple of weeks ago I posted a campaign AI. Most of what it does is it rebalances the factions and campaign levels a little. You should find campaigns easier on easy difficulty, possibly also on normal difficulty. Only two files are changed. They do not affect the feel of the mod and do not change costs or mechanics. You need to start a new campaign after installing them.
For some factions you should consider disbanding some of their most expensive units.

Re: Money
Some factions start off pretty dire straits, economically. For example the Khwarezm-Shah, the ERE, and the Rajputs (elephants!). You've just got to either disband or blitz. I prefer to do the latter. A combination of increased income from having more settlements, combined with reduced overall unit upkeep due to battle attrition, will soon see you in the black.
You might like to try Makuria as a starter faction, just to get the feel of the game - they have a tiny army at the beginning, hence low upkeep, and due to their geographical situation (map edge to the south, Red Sea to the east, Sahara Desert to the west) you're not going to be fighting on two fronts for a long time. Just roll up the Ayyubids and you'll be well on your way
