How to letting custom colors displayed by officers?

I wanted to make a new officer. All is working fine except that it does not work to give him custom colored tunics, shields... which the officer is supposed to display. For regular soldiers of an unit it is working fine. But when I add the officer to the unit_variants_colours table and choose officer_1 for the soldier_type column it does not work. Just officer also does not work. Also it does not matter what there is in the faction column - nothing, pro_rome, rom_rome... So what can I do for letting the custom colors displayed by the officer? Except making a new colored texture?

I was trying this the other day too, it doesn't seem to work at all. Your best bet will be to paint a uniform yourself, recolouring clothes isn't very difficult though, you can normally just use the colour slider anyway.
