If someone just stabbed another person on the front, he fall infront and if he stabbed on the back,, he falls back..dont you think theyre should be more death moves(lol)? and when unit does a finishing move.. the dead body just rotates.

It's a bit irritating, but there's so much other eye candy in the demo that it's not a deal breaker for me at the moment. The demo is off of a Beta build, so hopefully the final game will have a bit more variety in death moves.

You made this conclusin by playing the demo?!!
The demo that doesnt represent the final game.
Im sure the full game will be better made, more death moves, more finishing moves. Alot more

But if the full game is everything we saw in the demo, then it'll be nothing but bad.
That was a bit sarcastic, because The demo is a pre-beta and I dont think we should worry about anything, Just yet.

I'm sorry Sir, but this is BS.
    A. The demo is no pre-beta. Just like the RTW demo was no Pre-Beta. Just to inform you: A pre-beta is usually called alpha version and is usally not even playable by the average user.
    B. The demo DOES represent the full game. Perhaps not the campaign mode, but I guarantee you, Sir, that in terms of graphics and gameplay it DOES. Do you even KNOW the purpose of a demo? It is to SHOW the player the game, it's not like they publish a demo to show the audience everything the full game is NOT going to be.

You know I'm really getting sick of people always saying "The AI sucks? Wait, it's just a demo", or "The performance sucks? Wait, it's just a demo and HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE GAME." Has any of you guys ever asked themselves what the purpose of a demo is? Right, to SELL the full game and to show the game in the BEST WAY POSSIBLE.
I myself hope for a great game, but all I see in the demo is: Fast battles, ridiculous unit speed, zero tactics, bad performance (hell, I've got a 6800 GF and a 2,6 GHz AMD 64 and I have to turn the details down 'til it looks worse than RTW!)

DO YOU READ AT ALL? Seriously, almost everything you have said has been disproved by direct dialogue from CA. YES, it is a PRE-BETA, anyone here could bring a quote, it's right in the blog. NO, it does not have full optimization (stated by CA in .com forums in news and rules, full has much better FPS) and the DEMO is completely scripted. There's no way they could fit proper AI into a demo, that would increase the file size quite exponentially, the same applies for polish and animations which is all they have been working on since the demo was released: optimization, AI, and polish. As well, the unit speed seems fine to me, much more realistic than Rome and Medieval.

    <SIGH>

If the demo fully reflects the final game, why do they release a second improved one? Why does CA state that even compared with this improved one the final game will be a huge improvement. Demo is evaluation material, so people give comment, and they can use those comments to bring improvements to the final game. They can't have a perfect game if they don't know what the people think of it.

Im not saying the way the units kill...its how they die...RTW deaths look better than the 1 in m2TW i just hope it isnt like that in the game even though the demo isnt the final representetive.

    :tooth:

I'm sorry? there is a "second improved one" ? (unless I missed something..) in truth the initial "release" of the demo was some circle jerk with PC Gamer, they (or fileplanet) then officially released the demo on the internet. there isn't a thing different between the two, as confirmed by numerous parties who have both and tested

more animations=more lag=more time CA takes for creating them=less time they work on AI (need a good AI!!!)
    this is a total fallacy

personally I'm already happy if they die on a rather proper way no need for lots of animations just make the game good , and besides there are always mods..
first of all, our reliance on mods to finish the game SHOULD NOT be the default position.

second, you seem to forget that RTW was hardly moddable. sure, some things are moddable through the text files. however if it was not for USER made mod tools (namely, Vercingetorix) there wouldn't even be any mods as we know them for RTW.

third, the moddability of MTW2 is certainly not guarenteed, and may not even be as "open" as RTW. the demo still isn't even cracked

They maybe not making CONCLUSIONS, but demos are meant to leave IMPRESSIONS. And apparently he was left a bad impression. I thinkt he demo is fine myself, and animations are the least of my worries anyway.

I think the animations are fine, though theres only 3. I would like to see more. Are you sure they are all death animations. Sometimes you can see they are bloody but still standing(wounded) wich means they can turn around and face you until the final blow. Also, In a tightly packed battle dead guys are like drunks at a concert they just spin around bouncing off of people standing up.

doesn't bother me that much really... , i mean :
more animations=more lag=more time CA takes for creating them=less time they work on AI (need a good AI!!!)

= we can get an modder to help us out with the animation part, becouse you wouldnt expect Aztecs to fight as an European, the aztecs would be wild uncontrolled and on the wedge of bersek!

the animations are fine by me...

the thing that bothers me is how the unit suddenly turns red when they are killed or when they stumble back when hit by an arrow. i am glad they attempted blood but... it looks ridiculous.

Well, I am quite optimistic that this can be turned off in the full game. The "redness" is probably a texture or effect in dds format, which will allow it to be replaced by an empty file or one which does not turn the units red. Pretty much like the "sparks" in BI or the bubbles.

Death Animations are pretty much at the bottom of my list of things to worry about. I would rather have them work on other areas of the game. The death, and killing, animations from RTW were just fine.
I shouldn't have to live in a world where all the good points are horrible ones.

Well, then you obviously haven't seen comments by CA members saying the demo is a couple of months old IF NOT MORE. So it is not representative of the final game, as i expect the final game will be much more refined. It is only really representative of the final game in terms of unit graphicas and what historical battles will look like.
